Hormone free or hormone based

There are several threads about this problem - I tried to find links to them but can't work out how the search facility works.
Basically - with most people the problem can be managed but not always cured. A small dose of hormone locally applied works with many of us.

Having had menopause very early I have the problem of being dry down below all the time,It has been most uncomfortable to the point of painful really.
My GP gave me Replens which helped but did not cure.
I am worried about sex should I use something in addition or not.
I am going to go back to my GP and ask for something else.
What do you ladies find helps the most please?
