I think I read an article de-criminalising salt and telling us we have been given duff info about it being dangerous! Everything in moderation, I say. My brother and the crew who were in the merchant navy were given salt tablets to take in sub and sub tropical zones.

No it was definitely the water/salt issue. Once I was adequately hydrated with a little salt the pains left

Also there's a condition called Piriformis which is similar to sciatica but you'd have to google that as l am no good with links.

It sounds like sciatica. Try lying on a heated pad or hot water bottle. If it persists you should see a physiotherapist who may show you some helpful exercises. Good luck.

Do you think it could be sciatica? Only saying as l get a similar thing, like a nerve pain. It wakes me up in the night and yet in the daytime when l move about its not so bad. I"ve been taking Cocodomol as l can't take Ibuprofen and shouldnt really use the gel but l have done and it does give some relief.

Forgot to mention Aspro clear isn't sold in the UK it's been band because the EU said it has too much salt. This is what made me think the salt content had an affect on my pain.

Friday just gone I felt uncomfortable in bed pain in buttocks which travelled down my legs. I took Aspro clear pain went and I managed to sleep. Woke Saturday all fine even did some gardening but night time same again and had to take Aspro again. Sunday same again.

I then thought about this and realised I wasn't drinking enough so vastly increased my water in take and then thought the problem due to pain could be loss of salt due to sweating so added a little salt to the water is was drinking.

Anyway touch wood it seems to have improved
