Help regarding surgery

I've been there twice - sitting all togged up in hospital gown and anaesthetist comes round and says cold/chest infection insufficiently clear for op to go ahead. You certainly need to ring, so you do not have the hassle of this - and so someone else can be fitted in on the list if it has to be deferred.

Like others have said it will depend on your medical team you have still got a couple of days so sniffles may improve good luck ?

Thank you everyone. I will ring them on Wednesday and speak to someone. It's frustrating because I have just got my head around this and along comes the cold!! But your answers are really appreciated

Can't help medically I'm afraid, but just wanted to say I hope all goes well when you have your op and you make a speedy recovery.

Hi 'jocarter' welcome to GN, I don't think we can really help as it will depend on the doctors at your particular hospital but make sure you tell them and let them decide if you are fit for the anaesthetic, they will decide what is in your best interests they will want you to be safe after all.

Depending on the nature and location of the tumour I doubt if a few sniffles will delay the surgery.

The anaesthetist will decide on the day if you're fit for surgery.
