My OH had both his hips replaced in his 30's. He is now 61 and they both need replacing again. He saw the Consultant today and his left hip is in a very bad way. He has to have a small operation on Monday to check whether the hip is full of bacteria (sorry a little gross !!) And depending on the result will have the hip replaced shortly. Apparently it's a big operation with quite a long recovery time, he will also need bone grafts.
Has anyone had this done and how did they get on ? He is only 15 months in remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma and now this. It seems a lot to bear although he is always very positive about everything.
