My son has been feeling sick/nauseous for the past three and a half weeks. He has no appetite, and just says he feels as though vomit is rising and he is about to be sick, but then it turns out it is gas. Once he burps he feels a bit better but the nausea is still there.
He went to the GP this week, who feels it is gastric related and has given him some Omeprazole, but he doesn't feel these are helping. I am not sure how long they should take to start having an effect, and of course, it may be that he is just being too impatient and they will kick in soon.
It is affecting his sleep too - the nausea is waking him and then he can't get back to sleep
All he has been eating for the past two weeks really, is toast. I have made him a few nice dinners, but his appetite is low and he picks at them but doesn't each much.
This all started when my husband and I were away on holiday, so son had to fend for himself. He's no chef, so I suspect it would have been a lot of ready meals and takeaways. Not sure if these were the culprits, but would have thought any ill effects from that should have passed by now.
Has anyone else come across anything similar, and have any ideas of what he can do to get better. Obviously he's still taking the tablets the doctor gave him, and will go back in another week or so if he doesn't start feeling better, but if there is anything he can do/take in the meantime, he's all for it.
He doesn't take any other medication.
