DH and I are travelling to Australia to meet our brand new GD. DIL has asked us to make sure our flu and whooping cough vaccinations are up to date. Flu is no problem, we have it every year but the pertussis vaccine does not appear to be offered. Has anyone been able to get this done on the NHS? Thanks!

If you need to have this vaccination you will probably have to pay for it like most travel jabs. It amazes me that the NHS would rather people go abroad unprotected so that it costs £1000s to care for them when they come back with a tropical disease rather than providing the jabs and tabs for free. I do understand your DD concern - whooping cough is horrible.
