I wonder if any of you lovely medical ladies could give me an opinion.
Yesterday I had a routine mammogram, which showed a very small lump. I then had an ultrasound followed by a needle biopsy (not aspiration). The radiographer said he could see on the ultrasound that the lump wasn't a cyst.
I get the biopsy results tomorrow Obviously I'm very worried - is there any chance it could be anything other than cancer?

Good news indeed for you.

So pleased for you Margsus. You must feel elated - now, do as the docs told me - get on with living your life - and as the ladies on here have shown you, if you need support just holler! It is never far away on here.

I had one lump removed from my left breast in the 1980's then two years later another one removed from the same breast. Both were thankfully not cancer. Sending positive thoughts for tomorrow. Let us know how you got on xflowers

Final update for those who are interested - I got the pathology results at the hospital today, the nodes were negative, there is no spread and after radiotherapy in a few weeks life will go back to normal. I don't think I've ever been so relieved!
Thank you all so much for your good wishes.

Hopefully you’re a little less sore today and Thursday will come quickly. I’m guessing you won’t really relax until you get those results, I know I wouldn’t be able to if it was me

A further update - had lumpectomy yesterday, only had to stay in hospital for the day. Feeling a little sore today but no need for painkillers. Get the final results on Thursday. Seems ages away!

Nelliemoser Thu 12-Oct-17 22:41:44

It is bound to be scary to have this but it has been noticed and they are working on it. I hope you get some positive news tomorrow.
Do try and get some sleep tonight I know that could be difficult.
Best wishes.

Grannyknot Thu 12-Oct-17 22:34:39

Margsus it is tiny and will be speedily dealt with. Next week you will be cancer-free and a speedy recovery will complete the picture. flowers

Margsus - at least you know and it's being treated. Take care. x

Sending every good wish for a good result, Margus

How fortunate we are to have mammograms and smear tests FOC, and the follow up treatment. I used to give the younger girls at work short shrift when they would either moan about or ignore smear test appointments.

JackyB Wed 11-Oct-17 20:45:34

Glad you caught it so early on.

Nannacat Wed 11-Oct-17 20:16:48

All the best Margus . Sending hug .
