I have very painful arthritic hands - its in all the joints. I probably wouldn't try a bracelet but then I have a clinical background which makes me an old cynic. If I can't find a reliable research paper for something I don't do it. BUT I do recognise their may be a considerable placebo effect and if it works for you and you're happy then why not try it. It's co-codamol, warm gloves, keeping them exercised with lots of typing, generalised moaning and gin and tonic for me.

I have arthritis in the thumb joint of my right hand which is very painful when doing lots of things, especially taking care of my year old grandson 2 days a week. I have had a couple of steroid injections , done in hospital with x-ray guidance. They helped, but the effect wears off and the pain returns and gets worse.
Yesterday I had an appointment with a different consultant who recommended spica splints, so I have ordered some online. Anyone had any relief from them ? He is also going to do another steroid injection but after that wears off suggested we could talk about surgery to remove the affected bone. Sounds scary but I was relieved to hear that something can be done to relieve the pain in the future. Had anyone had this done ? Would like to hear what you think please !

There isn’t any evidence that they work at all but they don’t do any harm and there may be a placebo effect

I found a difference with a copper bracelet with magnets. So, copper? Magnets? My mum had bought it, but couldn't wear it as her skin was very thin and it bruised her.
She took it off and I put it on my own wrist, thinking I'd find a home for it later. I didn't take it off, and it was some months later when I realised a horrible gnawing pain in my shoulder was gone.
The bracelet is long gone, but the pain has never come back.

My daughter gave a me a bracelet with internal magnets a couple of years ago to relieve my arthritis. I have worn it night and day until it broke recently but wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence that my finger pains had decreased. During the past couple of months of not wearing one the pangs in my joints have increased sharply - so it DID work! Am ordering myself a new one now. Does anyone else have experience of these and does the strength of the magnets (3000/3500 gauss) really make a difference?
