I have been taking 1000mg cod liver oil capsules for a few months now in connection with joint problems and arthritis. I have recently noticed that the condition of my hair seems to be improving: it is definitely thicker and less fly-away and my hairline has moved forward. Is there a connection with the cod liver oil? Has anyone else found this? Naturally, I am very pleased and would recommend to those with similar hair problems (if my theory is confirmed).

SORRY! My title went berzerk. ("Miraculous"(?)...)

Has it helped eased your arthritis giulia?

Sounds like it suits you giulia. I stop taking a Vit D supplement over the summer months and noticed my hair was thinning a bit. Back on it now. You’ve made me think.

giulia my DH has had trouble with arthritis in his knee. We got to the stage of thinking he would have to have a knee replacement. However he read about rosehip and has been taking it for 2 months now. Barely a twinge from his knee. I think I may try cod liver oil as it is also supposed to be good for lowering cholesterol

High dose cod liver oil works this way for me, too. I started taking it about a decade ago when I began having arthritic twinges in my hip and, starting around that time, my hair improved enormously. It's in better shape now than it has ever been before - the last thing I expected post menopause smile. My hip problem hasn't got any worse but I am definitely aware of greater discomfort if I stop taking the cod liver oil for a few days.

Anniebach I'm not sure yet if it is helping the arthritis in my hands. The hip pain has completely disappeared (I was using a crutch). However, I do miss the bracelet with magnets which I wore for two years. I swear the twinges in my hands increased after it broke. How are you?

BBbevan Yes, I also take cod liver oil to reduce cholesterol (with my doctor's blessing). Curiously, another natural and cheap way to combat cholesterol is to drink 1 tbsp (no more than that) of organic apple vinegar a day in a half pint glass of water. Braggs is supposed to be the best. Have been doing this for a month now and intend to carry on, as I hope to reduce and so be able to cut out the statins.
