A few months ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was prescribed the channel blocking medication Amlodipine. This is well known to have the side effect of swollen feet and ankles but GP told me she has to prescribe it first. (probably a cost issue).
After about two months my ankles and feet were very swollen and uncomfortable. My GP readily changed it to another medication in the same group but known to not cause such swelling.
I've been taking this second medication now for two weeks. The swelling is down a bit, more so in one foot than the other. They are still somewhat swollen, uncomfortable and sensitive to touch.
I'm wondering how long it takes for the swelling to go down.
Has any other GNetter had this problem?
