I heard you had to hit it with a Bible - if you've got one in the house!

My daughter had one for months, days before her appointment to have it removed it disappeared.

My mother had one on the top of her foot - my sister got rid of it by jumping on the said foot.’ She was about two at the time.

Yes, a whack with a hefty book was the treatment I had as a youngster!

My D had one on her ankle, it was right where her shoes rubbed so it was drained.
By the time we went back got the check up it was full again so she had it removed. She was only 3 so it was done under GA.It has never returned.

My DD had one on her wrist several years ago which was about the size of a malteser. It caused her quite a degree of pain as she was working all day at a keyboard. She had it removed (under GA I believe) and has never had any trouble since.
There is apparently a DIY method, whereby you hit the ganglion quite hard with a heavy object and it breaks up and disappears. Not something my DD ever had the courage to try shock
Ganglion removal is on the list of 'outdated and ineffective' procedures the NHS is proposing to axe, so this may well be the reason for your GP's reluctance to refer you for surgery.

My son had one a few years ago, it lasted about year, then went on it’s own.

I had one on my wrist years ago. It did eventually disappear. My GP said it was best left alone. He did ask if I had a Bible and suggested I thump it with the book. shock
There are lots of natural remedies online.

I had one a lomg while ago. I may be dreaming it, but i have a vague recollection of my GP bashing it with the spine of a book on his desk...it did disappear wether he did bash it or not smile

Has anyone out there had a ganglion cyst removed and if so did it work.
I have been told that mine will disappear given time and I have had it for about 9 months now. It is not as painful as it was but still gives me problems from time to time. I don’t know anyone who has one and most people look at my wrist and recoil and say you should get that removed. Not so easy when doctors say it will go on it’s own.
