Well today marked my return to the good old 16:8 way of eating (ie not a diet!).
I stopped it while I was having meds in the morning after my knee replacement op. Well no excuse now so back to eating only between 12-8.
Anyone else persevered with this?

I've stuck with it though I did cut calories along the way ,I do 12 -7 for eating or sometimes 12-6 .I needed to lose my weight quite quickly to avoid back surgery and currently have just 3 pounds to lose to get to target .Almost two and a half stone since the middle of May .I'm pleased, I hope the hospital is when I see them next month. It really has become a way of life not eating outwith my times and I dont miss anything .

That's great paddyann. Hope it works as well for me again. I certainly was pleased with it until I had to stop for a few months. Fingers crossed.
Good luck at the hospital.

Once I get back from this jaunt I'm back on it too, I do like it and suits me

Yes it is a way of life for me now. The easiest way for me is to cut out breakfast, not having anything but black coffee and water until around 11:30 am. I usually have my evening meal around 5pm and a piece of fruit around 7pm then nothing but water until morning coffee. Since the beginning of March I have lost 37 pounds using this method with a healthy lunch and evening meal.

Well done Paddyann. I know how hard it is but cutting calories is also necessary for me as I have just turned 75. My way is to restrict bread to one slice a day, no potatoes, no ready meals and virtually no alcohol. I was determined to get my BMI down below 25 and it is currently 24.1.

Blimey Jane43 very well done!
Sadly I backslid this morning. Wolfed down toast and butter before I could stop myself! Am deeply ashamed. blush

I think I may give this a try again. I ache so much and know that losing a couple of stone will help.

GillT57 just losing 10% of your weight will make a huge difference. DH and I have lost a similar amount of weight since he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It was brought home to us when we bought a 15kg bag of dog food. DH lifted it and remarked that we had both lost more than the bag of dog food in weight since March. I couldn’t even lift it yet I had been carrying it around before the weight loss.

Jane10 don’t beat yourself up, it is hard to get back in the swing but once you get started it will be easier. I too love buttered toast but have had to limit myself to one slice of bread a day which I have at lunch time. Did you see the programme about carbs in which it said the carbs in bread are reduced if you freeze bread then toast it? We do that now.

I'm doing this too, and find that I feel much sharper and get more done in the morning if I don't eat until 12. I do have a cup of tea without sugar first thing though. I don't want to lose weight and this can be a problem, so have breakfast on days when I am going to be out all morning, usually 2-3 times a week.

I'm doing it in conjunction with WW as I need a way to control my sugar intake. The current WW 'points' system does that as 'smart points' are heavily weighted to sugary foods. Problem is we also eat out quite a lot, even so I've managed to lose about half a stone in seven weeks. Slow going, but I tell myself if I keep it up, that would be 52lbs in a year. Though I'd stop once I'd lost another stone.
