Many thanks for replies. I'm obviously not giving enough time to see improvement so will keep up the exercises and check out the hab-it dvd

I have a Kegel 8 and found it helped me, though like paddyann need to use it regularly again for a while. I had gone for some physiotherapy before and was given a loan of a similar device, so decided to buy one. The only issue I had was that the probe supplied didn’t work well for me but I still had the one I’d been given by physio. You can buy different probes.

If you want something that does not need to be inserted and works, I would recommend the Innovo.
There is a review thread on Gransnet here
It is expensive but you can pay in instalments.

I too have the hab-it DVD and need to get going regularly with the exercises. I think it's worth the money because they explain more about the body and also that doing too many pelvic floor exercises can have the opposite effect to what you want.

I've had a Kegel for years ,had great results with it and decided I didn't need it anymore.Sadly I was wrong ,I started using it again just last week so fingers crossed it helps. I think the new ones are linked to phone apps and have a different type of probe.Mine is stainless steel

My osteopath advised me to get a DVD of very specific pelvic exercises when I was in a worse prolapse situation than you, and within 6 weeks the exercises had made a huge difference and I was still only doing Stage 1 and had not progressed to the next 2 stages. The DVD is called habit (www.hab-it.com) and it cost me about £29.99 earlier this year. Prices vary with different stockists.

I don't know about the Kegel8 but I found that it took some months before pelvic floor exercises made any difference. Also, make sure you don't lift or carry anything heavy and make sure any exercise you do does not aggravate your pelvic floor. Many exercises which are good for keeping fit are bad for the pelvic floor. Look up Michelle Kenway for safe exercises.

As a regular reader of Gransnet I know this is the best place for advice. Some weeks ago I was diagnosed as having a mild to moderate cystocele and advised to do pelvic floor exercises which I've done almost non-stop with no improvement! I have read up on the Kegel8 Ultra 20 but before parting with any money wondered if anyone has tried this and did it help? Any other advice dealing with this gratefully received. I am 72 and lucky to be in good health.
