What a great idea, Feelingmyage55!

Have you got photos of yourself with her, or places you have visited together? That will give you topics for conversation, and you can leave them with her.

Yankee candles do some nicely scented pretty diffusers.

A pilllow spray that helps you sleep, they smell nice too. Body shop do one.
So sorry about your friend.

Perhaps some cards, envelopes and stamps and offer to write any messages, or help her to, on her behalf. When I was in hospital for long spells, I became very anxious to acknowledge the gifts and good deeds that were done for me and my family. A friend who understands me helped me by bringing in pretty cards. I wrote brief messages and she did the addresses and posted them. It felt like a weight off my mind. Really, just ask your friend if there are things like this you can do for her?

Thank you for the ideas. I have got lavender hand cream and footbalm so far. Will try and get some wipes and lip balm tomorrow.

A bottle of lavender essential oil - your friend could sprinkle a few drops on a tissue to dispel the hospital smells!

Once when I was in hospital someone brought me some 4711 wipes - they were wonderful - made me feel clean and fresh.

I am sorry to hear about your friend.

I really appreciated lovely handcream when I was in hospital. The beautiful smell was so nice after all the 'hospital' smells

Most hospitals ban flowers now .

Maybe take a really nice hand cream and give her a hand massage while you visit. Or does she like listening to music or audio books?

Body spray, cleansing wipes, perfume, are all nice. Or perhaps something cosy, like a shawl, bed jacket, fluffy socks?

Yourself ...... and caring conversation. Or perhaps do a hand and foot massage for your friend if you have that sort of relationship. Or photographs?

Maybe a selection of magazines that she would enjoy or some nice toiletries?

I am visiting a terminally ill friend soon and didn’t want to take flowers or food of any sort. Any ideas of a little something that I can take to cheer her up a bit.
