shingles

I had the flu jag in one arm and the shingles in the other on Saturday. The shingles hurt and is still driving me mad with the itching.

I also had the flu and shingles at the surgery at the same time. No problem with either.

I've just had the shingles vaccination. I had the flu jab in one arm and the shingles in the other at the same appointment. The only after effect has been an itching sensation around the vaccination area which has taken several days to go. Still it's better putting up with that than landing up with shingles!!! Neither injection actually hurt and I've carried on as normal with swimming etc.

Mawbroon. I don't know why they were spaced two weeks apart. I booked the flu jab weeks ago - then my GP suggested I have the shingles one too but it should be 2 weeks either way of the flub jab. I made it 2 weeks after flu in case I had an adverse reaction to it.

I haven't had shingles but know how painful it is from friends and family. I had the jab as soon as I could. It did hurt more than the flu jab and I think my arm was a bit painful for a while but that's nothing compared with getting shingles.

Do you know why, boheminan?
I had them together and in the same arm for good measure as I had tendinitis in the other.

Have the shingles and flu jabs coming up. The doctor advised to leave a two week gap between the two.

DD had shingles and DM. DH & I was standing outside the surgery door as soon as we qualified for the shingles jab.

No side effects at all for either of us

My husband was told to wait a year after having the shingles.

I went for a flu vaccine and was offered a pneumonia one too. When the nurse saw my record of frequent shingles attacks she offered me the vaccine at her discretion even though I did not fall into the appropriate age category. No ill effects from any of the vaccines. I have not had shingles since.

I also had shingles some years ago and nearly didn't go when I was summonsed for the vaccine. But you can get it again, so I did have the jab and suffered no ill effects whatsoever.

No ill effects for me when having the shingles jab.

I had shingles about 12years ago and had the shingles jab 4 weeks ago. No ill effects.
I would take medical advice though as yours was more recent.
