Just had a hip replacement, getting around pretty well with sticks so out and about. Problem is using toilets, not always disabled so can anyone recommend a portable raised toilet seat , internet has so many mind boggles ! Thank you

If you are in touch with the hospital where you had surgery I would ask the Occupational Therapist or if she/he is not around, a physio.

Juana

A tad embarrassing but here goes.

I take my ' old faithful ' inflatable child's swimming ring with me for emergency use if there is no disability toilet available . Difficult to find one small in circumference and deep enough but if you find one cheap enough to try it might work for you. Obviously easy clean , easy to use, easy to carry .

I have never seen a portable raised toilet seat for sale that is not made of the hard plastic and looks like what it is used for and obviously bulky to carry to be honest.

This may not work for you, but I have used a Shee-wee
www.shewee.com/

(I have no connection, this is a personal recommendation)

And thank you Pogs, for another idea.

How about something like this? Quite bulky but assume it would squash fairly flat for travel.

Can you stand up with a little lean backwards I ve done that if I haven’t liked the look of a loo seat

Shewee - I can recommend these. Best to try it out in the shower for the first time and get some practice in!

I can recommend the usefulness of the product which shysal highlights. It might be a bit bulky to carry around, but you could carry it in a (specially designated?) shopping bag. I struggle with "low" loos (our own are higher than is usual nowadays) so I bought a "soft foam" seat to take on holidays. It's a bit soft & squishy but it does job.

I got a she wee from our local poundland. Still in its box but it’s a good idea.
