Housework is very dangerous mumofmadboys!

Very limiting though, isn't it? Really wanting to be out for a 'proper' walk, not just a scuffle down to the Spar shop... ?.
gillybob, I'm always barefoot, so maybe that's a lesson learned, and I must also learn to be patient.

I caught my little toe on the door frame a few years ago. An X-ray confirmed a break but there’s nothing you can do accept keep it taped to the next toe. I can really feel your pain Marelli . I had masses of bruising across the top of my foot and ugly Crocs were all I could get my foot into for weeks without screaming in agony. Moving on a couple of years my little toe has healed rather bent behind the rest. Lesson to self...... don’t walk around the house in bare feet !

I broke my little toe about 6 weeks ago and it is almost pain free. I did it doing housework so be warned ladies and don't risk such dangerous pastimes! I have lived in trainers for 6 weeks.

Whatever is least painful - your walking boots outside (everyone seems to be wearing a variation on that theme at the moment) and perhaps sandals indoors?

Keep walking as much as possible though - someone I know broke her big toe and rested it, as advised, for six weeks and found she had developed osteoporosis in it.

She said it wasn't evident before the break.

There is little else you can do, the 6 weeks will soon be up. Breaking my little toe is a pastime of mine.

Ouch and ouch again!
I ended up wearing skecher trainers for months after I damaged mine - got me into (bad ) habits of choosing omfort over style every time.

Sounds very painful, I know what it is like. Who would think that such a little digit could give so much pain. Sorry, don’t know how to help. When I broke mine it was summer so wore no shoes or sandals/flip flops.

still just - not stllbjust.

3 weeks ago I stubbed my little toe (agony emoticon). Lots of bruising across foot and swelling of wee toe. Last week I went to GP as toe stllbjust as painful as ever. Doctor said it could indeed be broken, but even if it was, the treatment would be the same: ‘buddy-taping’ it to the next toe. Which he did for me, with my foot up on his leg. ?
Anyway, long story short, toe is still swollen and it’s very painful when I wear shoes, because of the pressure coming down on the top of the toe.
Anyone else had this problem? I know it takes 4-6 weeks for a bone to heal, but clomping about in my walking boots, which give the least pressure of all of my shoes, do nothing for my usual stylish appearance (not)!
