'Less than half over-40s take free NHS (dementia) test'

Well that's odd as I have an auto immune condition that leads to vascular dementia and my GP assures me there is no way of knowing if you'll develop dementia until you develop it. Mri's may show lesions on the brain but that doesn't automatically mean you will develop dementia.

I think I did also when I went for an annual check. I was given a fake address to memorise and I could remember it an hour later so I suppose I passed. Never mind I have no idea what I went upstairs to collect a few minutes ago.

I had no idea this test was offered. (Is that a sign?)

DH did it at last BP check up he thought the questions unlikely to reveal anything as did the nurse administering it.

Article in today's paper told me that 'everyone aged between 40 and 74 with no existing health conditions is automatically eligible for the (dementia) check every 5 years'. I've just looked on the NHS website, and can't find anything about it. Can anyone throw any light on this for me?
