I went to the doctors yesterday for the results of the biopsies - convinced I was going to be told the worst despite trying to tell myself I didn’t have the indicators

My doctor told me that they found no cancer And they think I’ve an ulcer, which the hospital want to check in a few weeks time.

It was lovely to just talk to my GP and tell her my worries and get reassurance from her that these things are treatable and can be reduced, at least. She though that I’m doing all the right things - cutting out carbs and processed rubbish and eating small but frequent meals - and plenty of live yogurt too.

Glad to read that you’re feeling better ??

I'm so glad things are getting better for you. Yes, I find the same thing about dieting. Weight loss is hard because my reflux gets bad when my stomach acid has nothing to work on. You just can't win can you? I'm pretty sure I will be taking my omeprazole indefinitely now. I find it a godsend. smile

I haven't been formally diagnosed with acid reflux, but I am positive that I have it. I get a lump in my throat, burning in my chest, and a dry cough.
I worked out that my main triggers are wine, cooked tomato in all its forms, onions and greasy fried foods, so no more fish and chips for me.
I'm really pleased that nothing was untoward Aglassofrose. Onward and upward as they say.

Sorry for any typos - I’m writing this on my phone

Thank you for all the support and common sense advice you gave me, it really helped me with all my fears about the worst case scenario and kept me grounded

Update: it’s a week since I had the endoscopy and I’ve been on 40mg of Omeprazole daily. I can honestly say I haven’t had one episode of not being able to swallow my food and my other symptoms have lessened a lot.

It shocked me as I’ve always considered myself to be fairly healthy and don’t go the doctors much at all. I was trying to ignore all the worsening digestive problems and thinking I’d be able to sort them out myself once the work on building our extension was finished.

In all my googling of the past few weeks I’ve ive read about all sorts of diets eating plans and programme til I’ve got to the point of working out a plan that suit me
One thing that learnt that I hadn’t known and it’s worth people being aware of this is that fasting diets can lead to problems with acid reflux and GORD because when you’re fasting your stomach acids have got nothing to work on. I’ve tried IF 16:8 but fortunately fasting gives me headaches. But I’ve often tried to wait til I’m hungry and to miss meals
So, that’s me - feeling like I’m getting there - although I’m nervous and being very careful and I’m a work in progress x
