mine have! some people have lovely feet, mine wern't too bad, but this last 3/4 years they are not good, corns (after wearing some Clarks £68 shoes) confused

Nails not very nice, dry skin, at the mo I am soaking them in salt water, I also have some of those bootie sock things that moisturise them, so I will be doing that afterwards.

As its coming summer (well eventually) would love to get them in tip top condition. (Can't afford a chiropodist) so its d.i.y I'm afraid.

Any hints and tips most welcome.

Yes MawBroon...don't we just winkgrin
?v ?

MawBroon Mon 25-Mar-19 10:16:04

And we all know about the inaccuracy of measurements expressed by men shock

Jalima1108 Mon 25-Mar-19 10:12:42

Phodophilia.

May I just add that women will never be equal whilst measurements are decided by men.
Having just measured my foot, I find that it's 9.5" from heel to big toe, giving the lie to a foot being 12". ? ?
I take 6.5-7 shoe size.

Lovely feet, Urmston
I think your bookcase is the same as mine but your feet are infinitely better grin

GabriellaG
Please keep it coming, your posts are a hoot!
(Not including the anecdotes about people who have died, of course sad).

Why oh why are toenails so tough yet my fingernails split and break? Perhaps your postman has the answer.
Please, Mr Postman?

I wonder why it's ok to be a 38 yr old male who does pedicures/chiropody but not to be a postie who very occasionally likes painting nails, be it toes or fingers.
I had a good friend, sadly dead, who had a chiropodist paint her nails after attending to her and her husband's feet at home every few weeks.
He was a police officer who did it as an extra income and he was fully qualified to do so.
Friend and her husband were late 70s and the PO was 40-ish.
I've known plenty of guys with a 'thing' about shoes and nice feet...on women.
It's normal.

GabriellaG54 Mon 25-Mar-19 08:46:04

*show that pic to the postie...grrr.

GabriellaG54 Mon 25-Mar-19 08:44:37

Wow! Urm
They look fab. I may show that pic to the picture. ( ok...only kidding)
I am envy of your tan, I'm sooo pale and uninteresting.
Like the toe ring too but it would irk me as I can't even wear finger rings or necklaces - I feel as if I'm being choked (in my mind's eye I can see some GNers with their ??at that statement ?)
Your bookcase caught my eye.
People with lots of books are usually very interesting and I'm sure you're one of them. ?

Grief! A toe painting postie ?

Fifty shades of .... nail polish ?

Maggie, I can assure you we’ve seen it all!

I've had a good laugh reading these horror tales
confused

Grammaretto Mon 25-Mar-19 07:43:13

grin I always enjoy the repartee and Gabby's description of Surrey life.
I've yet to take off my winter boots let alone venture into sandals.
I am grateful to my poor old feet and mean to give them less weight to bear.

Carolina55 Mon 25-Mar-19 07:19:18

Ooh lovely Urmstongran - they look very summery!
Time to start painting mine ready for the season! I’ve just treated myself to a new shimmering raspberry shade which looks good with all my sandals.

Urmstongran Mon 25-Mar-19 06:56:58

I’m lucky as I have nice feet still at 64y! I have a pedicure once every 6 weeks and have done for 20y as I don’t like feet. If I make them as attractive as I can, even in winter, that’s good!

craftyone Mon 25-Mar-19 06:24:04

oh yes, they are worse. Bony spurs, thickened nails, hammer toes. I saw a lovely podiatrist last year, he said the bunions were caused by shortening tendons and cannot be prevented, they are inherited. I have been in granny shoes for very many years, flat and supportive and boring. Feet have got wider. He felt my foot pulse and said I have good circulation in my feet, so at least that is a blessing

I found it very difficult to cut my nails, bought a very tough good set of nail scissors from amazon. It was called a cuticle nipper but is for toenails too and comes with an ingrown nail lifter. It was £7.99. I manage fine with these, they cut the hardest nails

Feet are fine and always have been, in spite of still wearing high heels. The back however…

pinkquartz Mon 25-Mar-19 00:49:19

I am finding it fascinating to read about tall the different feet. I have never liked mine. They are are wide and not shapely.
I loved reading about the postie who paints toenails. Keep spilling the beans please. It is fun to read.

GabriellaG54 Mon 25-Mar-19 00:00:19

I expect certain people avoid news items containing unsavoury facts, like the plague.
They are the very kind who read every word then denounce it as dreadful etc...
Hypocrisy.

GabriellaG54 Sun 24-Mar-19 23:56:30

I'd rather read about something which isn't harmful than read about greedy or abusive in-laws or nc ds-i-l which make whole families upset.
You've an image in your mind of a handsome 38 yr old V an old hag of 75 but that's so far from the truth as to be laughable.
I won't lower myself to say more.

Chewbacca Sun 24-Mar-19 23:46:49

I'm sure that you don't know half of our private lives

We're getting to know rather too much a lot of yours GG54! I'm off to bed, with my head full of images I'd rather not have at this time of night.

Oldfossil Sun 24-Mar-19 23:46:24

I’m another one who wore sensible lace-up, well-fitting shoes as a girl and have never worn high heels . Despite this I developed bunions on both feet plus knobbly arthritic lumps on my toes. It ain’t fair! However, surgery on my feet has made a difference to how my feet feel - and how they look. Nails are ghastly,though....

GabriellaG54 Sun 24-Mar-19 23:44:28

M&s Mitten Ms Mirren.

GabriellaG54 Sun 24-Mar-19 23:42:53

Now now MawBroon
Would you think it odd if a 38 yr old male painted the toenails of Helen Mirren or Judi Dench?
I'm about two years older than M&s Mitten and taller, not as pretty but then I don't wear make-up to hide any imperfections.
I'm 10 years younger than Dame Judi but not as lined and I'm slimmer and taller.
Would it sit better with you if that was the scenario rather than an unknown 75 yr old GNer?
My OH is a great deal younger and likes double showers but I suppose that deserves your opprobrium too.
I'm sure that you don't know half of our private lives and a good job too. You might be shocked.

Chewbacca Sun 24-Mar-19 23:29:57

I'm feeling slightly queasy now...... envy not envy
