Hi Joce, not on medication at the moment but have been on quite a few different SSRIs in the past. Sadly I don't thing they've helped me in the long term but everyone's different. I'm so sorry about your first baby.

I'd be interested to know if anyone here is still working. I'm almost 62 and won't be able to retire for a good while yet as I'm single and can't really afford to. I do enjoy some aspects of work but am finding it increasingly stressful (medical secretary in a busy GP practice). I find it very triggering because I have health anxiety and have to deal with some very difficult situations. On the other hand it keeps me busy and away from my own thoughts for some of the time!

Annie, sending you a big hug and please don't feel too lonely. I'm all alone too tonight but my dog and cat are curled up near me and I'm just trying to breathe through my stupid anxiety and trying to look forward to another sunny day tomorrow. A peaceful night to all x

Hi Maggie I did work up to the last 3 year when I had a nervous breakdown, I did enjoy my job nothing like your but enjoyed it all the same. I couldn’t do you job Maggie, you are very brave. I was a receptionist for 27 company’s ... I am 64 this year and i would be the same as you for retirement age I think. Don’t think I will work again now. I really don’t think we should have to work that long.

Maggie i work but don’t get paid ! over 30 years ago my brother and brother in law bought a country pub, brother in law said he couldn’t continue to do the wages and vat for brothers building firm, brother asked me to do them and he would put a card in the job centre !

MaggieTulliver Tue 14-May-19 22:42:35

Not brave Joce, needs must! Annie, they are very lucky to have you! Nite all x

Nonnie Wed 15-May-19 11:46:08

joce it doesn't matter how many more children you had, you will always miss the ones you lost. I know.

Good that you were able to help your friend and that it helped you but have you had a reaction since? Sometimes I feel awful the next day.

Maggie I wonder if your job contributes to your anxiety? You must see so many things which scare you. If you were a hard person you would be able to ignore it all but if you empathise it must be very stressful.

Anniebach Wed 15-May-19 12:10:06

It has been suggested by someone who has posted here that I leave GN and speak to Silverline, this was said on another tbread , I will not leave GN but I will avoid threads where that forum member posts, it could affect this thread, I will miss you all so much, stay brave and don’t give up x

Nonnie Wed 15-May-19 12:15:32

What a horrible thing to say to someone. I would have responded and told them so if I had seen it. Let's all stand together and take no notice of the insensitive ones. Why on earth can't you go on as many sites as you wish?

Beckett Wed 15-May-19 13:44:13

Please don't leave this thread Anniebach - I was very grateful for your kind comments when I had a bad day at the weekend.

Beckett Wed 15-May-19 13:45:59

I should have said your kind comments directed to another poster

BlueSky Wed 15-May-19 13:46:38

Can't believe the nastiness on some sites! People go on it to be advised and reassured especially when they are health forums and to be dismissed or patronised or even offended by others is unbelievable! angry

seacliff Wed 15-May-19 13:49:55

Actually they didn't suggest you leave at all Annie. They were trying to help you. Being kind and caring.

Lily65 Wed 15-May-19 13:50:06

The someone is me. How dare you falsify my kind intentions.
Please look at the Meghan thread for the details.

In order to make myself crystal clear, I kindly suggested you take a little break. I meant for a morning or a day or so. I then kindly, mindful of your health issues posted what I thought may be a helpful link.

I have had depression, most of my life. BTW.

Anniebach Wed 15-May-19 14:11:10

What I post here has nothing to do with my opinions on the
Megan thread , you had no right to post what you did under the guise of being helpful and caring.

A link to Silverline? How cruel

I posted here to say I wouldn’t post whilst a certain poster posted here, I feared this thread would be disrupted, you have succeeded in doing what I wanted to avoid.

Please say no more .

Doodle Wed 15-May-19 14:41:22

Please don’t leave this thread annie. Misunderstandings happen between the best of us. Maybe lily was in her way trying to be helpful and at the same time I can see how you could be upset at what you thought she was suggesting.
Perhaps least said soonest mended would be the way forward but please stay here posting annie. You have helped others and it would be a shame to go from a thread that supports you too and that you are so much a part of.

Joce345 Wed 15-May-19 15:11:27

Please please please Annie don’t leave us you are my rock, and sure there is a many more on hear that willbe lost with out you Annie.. come on every one we what Annie to stay..

Anniebach Wed 15-May-19 15:11:36

To all,

If you post on this thread you are lonely how would you feel
And what would you think if you were posting on a chat tbread sbout the royals and a poster here suddenly posted that you should hsve a break from GN and post a link To
Silverline? If it was thought to be a kindness why not post it on this thread ?

You can make your own opinions, all I ask is no more disruption of this thread

Annie x

Joce345 Wed 15-May-19 15:17:13

Please every one ask Annie to say..

KatyK Wed 15-May-19 15:34:08

Don't leave Annie You were kind enough to offer me help and have done so for others.

Cherrytree59 Wed 15-May-19 15:47:29

Dear Annie
I follow this very helpful thread because I suffer anxiety issues (not thankfully depression).

I have only posted once,
sometime last year when I was going with my DH on a short holiday and my anxiety re being away from home went into overdrive.
I received some very helpful suggestions and words of wisdom from posters on this thread.
I was very grateful.

I consider you be a friend Annie all be it a virtual one.
I have been on gransnet long enough to know a bit about how/why your life has traveled along certain paths.

I am also well aware that you would be sadly missed by all of GN not just to friends this thread.

Your contribution on GN is as important as any other GN poster.
And I enjoy reading your posts.

Love Cherry x

Lily65 Wed 15-May-19 17:39:05

I have the same right to be here as anybody else. I never , ever said anyone should " leave". I don't have the kind of power.

maryeliza54 Wed 15-May-19 18:21:52

Ah but you see Lily acknowledging the truth of what you actually posted would detract from being able to play the victim.

Anniebach Wed 15-May-19 19:03:44

BBC 1 this evening. Nadia Hussain talking of her anxiety and the most effective , available treatments .
