That's good to hear, Urmstongran. I have had it twice in the past, from walking around shops on a hot day (and didn't know what it was back then). Only noticed it at home when walking past a mirror, as it was on the back of my legs.

Just to say, the rash has pretty much gone! It scared me because I wondered what it was as I’ve never had it before.

I think NanTheWiser must’ve been right - some sort of ‘golfers’ rash. I googled it and it described what had happened exactly.

I’ve posted now to say (a) thanks to you all for caring and (b) should anyone in the future have something similar and come upon this thread, it might reassure them to know how quickly (3 days) it cleared up!

Yes maw always worth getting it checked out, I did the first time it erupted as i was concerned about cellulitis. I thought it unlikely as it was on both legs but went to a walk centre on my holiday venue anyway just to be sure.

Echoing what POGS says, if it spreads , if you develop a temperature or feel poorly in any way -*get to a Doctor or A&E* immediately.

It looks a lot like something I get on my lower legs in summer if it’s sunny (not a problem in the uk so far this year!) It’s a rash that looks a bit like little blood blisters, red and angry. It’s not something I’ve always had, started about 10 years ago, out of the blue. As far as I can make out it’s a sun sensitivity issue. Sorry can’t remember what it’s actually called. Mr google might help!

Thank you so much lovely ladies for responding! I’m home now in Manchester and it’s not as hot nor as itchy. It was quite startling to be honest last night and I admit it made me a little anxious wondering what the heck it was.

I’m going to take advice, have a tepid shower soon, leave off the moisturiser and keep and eye on the area. It’s not spread further so I’m hoping it’ll just settle down in a few days.

It looks like the prickly heat that I suffer from in humid climates.

I wouldn't apply any more moisturiser - you're further clogging up the pores and the skin can't breath. Shower with tepid water to cool the skin down and keep applying cold cloths/wipes.

Keep an eye on it as it may turn out to be 'cellulitis'.

Is it hot to touch? If the redness moves further up your leg I would ask for advice from a pharmacist or doctor.

I've had it in the past - it's commonly known as "golfers rash" or "golfers vasculitis" :https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golfer%27s_vasculitis quite common as you get older, from walking in hot weather! Nothing to worry about, it will probably fade away in a few days.

It’s on the inner aspects of both ankles by the way!

Just itchy. I’ve been putting loads of moisturiser on Maw to keep the skin supple.

I just wondered if anyone else has had this after walking in hot weather!

My dh has had similar, usually on holiday somewhere warm. He has seen the gp and was told not to worry @bout it. It goes after a while.

Lying with your leg at a higher level than your heart could help. It looks very sore!

Is it painful?
