PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY

I have it and it's absolutely horrible. It affects my sleep and just about every aspect of my life.

I've been diabetic for years, but neuropathy came on quite quickly. My blood glucose is reasonably well controlled and doctors don't seem to know what to do.

All I can suggest is looking after your legs and feet well to make sure you don't get dry skin, slow healing cuts, etc.

If you're taking metformin or a proton pump inhibitor, such omeprazole, ask for a test for anaemia, which can bring on neuropathy. The problem is Vitamin B12 absorption, but plasma test don't always show up problems with absorption. You can have enough Vit B12 in your blood, but it's not being used properly.

You should also insist on effective pain killers if neuropathy is affecting your quality of life.

You are certainly in the right place for good care lonjay your beautiful complex looks spectacular.

I'm assuming you also have good health insurance so don't worry, they'll look after you.

Maybe ask for regular foot massages if the neuropathy is in your feet.
My father in law benefited greatly from that.

I know several people who have or have had peripheral neuropathy.
It seems to vary from not too serious or life changing to progressing to a very serious and terminal condition.
Good luck with your diagnosis, I wish you well.

Hi lonjay. Welcome to GN. You have started many threads since joining us. I doubt you are aware that CAPITAL letters are considered shouting. We don’t usually use capitals when starting a thread. Hope you are enjoying your time on GN. I gather you are in America so some of us may be operating at different times of day. Catch up with you later ?

Seems like there are many people with this troublesome condition besides me.
