I’ve since looked into amlodipine and found out that a lot of people have huge intolerances to them. Not a nice medication!

Well that 's interesting! That's when I had trouble when they upped my amlodipine like you from 5 to 10mg! I had palpitations and sweats, worsening of my anxiety etc. I stopped taking it and went back to the 5mg. I told my consultant and he agreed saying that I was lucky in being able to tolerate the 5mg. I guess if you are happy with the fluoxetine you could just stay on it instead.

Hi BlueSky, Yes I think so although if the fluoxetine works I would rather stay on that I think?
I was on amlodipine 5 mg for about 3 years. Kept having fainting spells but they upped the dose to 10mg and that’s when the problems started.. anxiety, tinnitus, sweating ... horrible drug. Now on ramipril.

Morning Gilbo21. What sort of bp medication were you on and what did they change it to? Interested as I had a problem when my bp medication was changed. It does seem strange to mention HRT in your '60s but I have no experience of this. Would that be instead of fluoxetine?

Good morning all. I’ve been unwell recently with terrible anxiety and sweats which my dr suspected are caused by the wrong blood pressure tablets. I’m now on new ones and fluoxetine for anxiety. However, as the symptoms are persistent she wants to try me on HRT. I’m 63. Had anyone else started this at such an age?
