Prolapse repair and Sacrospinus Fixation (SSF)

Unfortunately, no experience of this. Only thing I would advise is make sure they are not using Mesh.

I had hysterectomy with cystocele and rectocele repairs which is a similar operation and was much more comfortable afterwards. You have to be careful not to do too much afterwards, particularly lifting, but I would not worry about having the op.

As the Dr said I am very fit for my age ?, I should go ahead with the op. Because as I age, and maybe be not so fit, I may not be able to have anything done. IYSWIM
Our Dr is lovely and has said that he will speak to me anytime if I need a bit more hand holding.

Good luck Auntieflo - I'm sure all will be well. One of my friends had it done (prolapse). Tried calling her to get some info for you, but she was not at home. It's natural that you will be a bit anxious. I get anxious before a routine GP appointment.

My friend had this a few months ago - she sh....g bricks about it and was so amazed at how simple it all was when it came to the crunch. She felt fine; so fine that she had to keep stopping herself doing the things she was not meant to do during the following weeks.

Fill the freezer with lovely M&S ready meals - I am sure even your OH could not go wrong!.......or could he?!

Luckygirl, unfortunately we lost our local M&S in town a couple of years ago now.
But, we do have a Waitrose . I shall have a look tomorrow.

I had an SSF 10 weeks ago, and I am a 'new woman'. It was absolutely fine, not too disagreeable. I was in hospital for two nights, and was allowed out when I could pee and poo. I have been very careful over lifting - still am being to a certain extent. It is such a joy not to have a sagging undercarriage. The op took under an hour, and I had no ill effects from the anaesthetic. Go for it Auntieflo - you will be so happy with the new you. Will be thinking of you.

Before my op I made lists of easy dishes - lasagne, shepherds pies etc and put them in the freezer so all DH had to do was put them in the oven.

So did I dragonfly - and Waitrose takeaways. In fact I've rather taken to not cooking - not sure how long I can get away with it.

I did phone a volunteering colleague and had a long chat with her.
It is so reassuring to hear of your experience, helping to put my mind at peace.
I have got a few ready made meals in the freezer, and am going to try and get a few more prepared. The only problem is that there is so much going on at the moment.
Still, it will make the time go quickly.
Dragonfly. From you posts elsewhere, I am glad that you are recovering well, but take it easy and don't try to run before you can walk.
