Annodomini - I am being treated for reflux with medication and have still not gotten any relief.

Thank You for your insight.

Thank You BlueSky - Yes I am not expecting a diagnosis but am interested in the experiences of others that may be similar and/or any advice on where I should go next. I only started a new thread because I couldn't change the subject of this one and I did not intend for it to be simply "Help".

You are right in saying that nobody on here or Google can make a diagnosis but I found it often helps to hear other people's experiences. It allays some of the anxiety while awaiting to be seen/receive results. Hope all will be OK Apry

Why have you started another thread with a different title about the exact same medical questions ?
The answers is the same no one on here should give you a diagnosis it could be anything, you are having a scan tomorrow hopefully this will give you the answers you need

I think you mean Sjogren's Syndrome. Almost anything can be blamed on that, but I haven't heard of the ENT symptoms you mention. I don't think a CT scan will diagnose an auto-immune conditions. A blood test was used to diagnose my Sjogren's.
The reflux your ENT specialist noticed is likely to laryngopharyngeal reflux which means that stomach acid is reaching your vocal chords and causing hoarseness. My consultant prescribed several medications to prevent this happening, but not before my vocal chords were damaged. Go back and ask for medication to control reflux.
Hope this helps.

Apryl4, Sorry to hear you are so unwell, it must be really getting you down.

I have Sjogren's, but have never experienced any of the
symptoms you describe, apart from the constant hoarseness.

I hope you receive a diagnosis and treatment soon. flowers

Hi - I have an incredible sore throat and dry cough and sometimes pain in my chest. My voice is hoarse and the hoarseness and pain in my throat increase when I speak more than a minimal amount. I sometimes have pain and burning in my upper chest. My right ear is consistently in a large amount of pain what usually increases after eating, my left ear hurts now and then. I had a neck CT and all that showed with several swollen lymph nodes and a thyroid nodule. The ENT says that he can see signs of reflux when he did the scope and believe strongly that I have a TMJ disorder. as recommended I followed up with a dentist that says I have absolutely no signs or indication that there is anything wrong with my TMJ. I'm having a CT tomorrow. All of my blood work(ANA etc) is negative for auto-immune. These symptoms have persisted for at least 7 weeks. I have also lost a significant amount of weight. Is it still possible that I could have Sjourens based on my symptoms and will the CT confirm or deny it?
