Thank you rafichagran, grandmafrench, lavenderzen and Joyce 345 for your kind words. My past has been really bad which I wont go into right now. I have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. 4 grandchildren. My youngest is my rock and he does understand. He got me a lovely card for Mother’s Day and some tulips. Also he is doing tea tonight. Nothing from the eldest two children so far. I wont hear from my daughter as I haven’t spoke to her in over 5 years and I still don’t know what I have done. I’ve tried so many times to get in touch with her with no reply. I might as well be dead in her eyes. Now my eldest son hasn’t been in touch for ages even though I do keep texting and phoning him. He is short with me on the phone and sometimes doesn’t answer to phone or texts at all. They both had the same dad and he was a wife beater. Sorry to burden you all with this.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there, please have the best day that you can.

This is difficult for me, I do not run or control this thread, I have posted on it since Batty told me she was starting it and asked me and others if we would contribute.

Batty wanted a thread where people could talk of their depression, their anxiety, any mental health problems and give support and understanding, share anything they found
had helped.

I don’t think daily bulletins of what is on the news or in the press helps this thread. We are all experiencing fear, depression from hearing the news, read the countless threads
on this forum .

I think we need to find positives to share , this is only my opinion and it is up to every one who disagrees to continue to post what they choose to x

I wish everyone was taking it all seriously. My oldest friend has 2 sons and 4 adult grandsons, all living nearby but she still 'pops out to the shop' when necessary.

Advice is constantly changing and shops and organisations have to change what they do to keep up. NT is now closing all its open spaces because of the latest advice. At least we have a garden but so hard for others.

Joce and anyone else with a pet, it must be great at times like these to have one to cherish.

I'm having a really bad day, worst Mothering Sunday ever. Just read this "I can think of no mother more deserving than a Mother who had to give one back" -Emma Bombeck. It is heartbreaking isn't annie?

Whywhy I feel for you, I know the feeling so so well. We are all worried about what’s happening in the world today, I come hear for the same reason as you it always cheers me up some what.

If that was true we would all be burdens to one another, we or not we are all friend that suffer the same horrible illness hear for one another as much as we can be... don’t be so hard on you self.
I turn the news off I really don’t want to hear more than I have too..

Morning whywhywhy - your post made me sad. Easy to see why you can’t get motivated when there’s so much going on in life now to add to problems you are used to struggling with anyway. Poor you. I know it feels like pushing water up a hill for many of us. We call on all our reserves, we straighten our backs and give ourselves a talking to ...and then something else arrives in life and it all gets too much. But don’t be hard on yourself, you have to moan sometimes and say how you feel - out loud. You’re not burdening anyone. Isn’t that why this lovely thread exists? A place where everyone can share their feelings and their struggles, knowing there are others who can empathise ,as raficha says. Today will be extra sad for those who are Mums and feel down because they won’t have time with their families. My DH remarked that Boris Johnson thinks it’s not a good idea for families to visit Mums today. I said, blimey has he just had that thought, he should try reading Gransnet - at least the smart people on there are ahead of him and making the sacrifice! I slept badly because last night here I learned that my not being able to go out may not come to an end in 10 days time - but carry on until the end of April. I felt upset and panicky, like you do in the small hours sometimes when life’s problems overwhelm us. . Then I felt ashamed because I had read somewhere that Anniebach hasn’t been out for 2 years..and now again she’s going to have to wait. We’re going to get through this, WE ARE. We’re going to concentrate on the positives and focus on our blessings and make life whole again. Knowing that you’re not really alone in your thoughts - that others are facing the same or bigger challenges may just help on days when it all feels too much? I think we all hope that’s going to help. I send you a big Mother’s Day hug and I bet others do too. ? ? ?

I read this post often and it cheers me up. I battle depression on a daily basis but lately it has been a struggle. Every morning it gets harder and harder to get out of bed. Everyone is worried about this virus. I hardly see my grandchildren as it is without all of this. I'm constantly down and sick of it all. Sorry to burden you but I'm so depressed. X

Dawn I don’t mind it’s my conservatory, glad you didn’t see two much it was a bit of a mess kids were hear they love the budgie. He is funny loves his cup of Yorkshire tea.

Hello all. I think we all know this virus is serious but apart from taking sensible precautions there is nothing we can do. We can only hope that it will pass and pray for all those affected. My concerns are more for those struggling with job worries or trying to cope with children at home all the time.
I am finding a few things to do spending part of the day cleaning and then having some me time doing some quilting. At least spring is on the way and the trees are budding. Some blue sky today although very cold outside. Saw some tiny little daffodils this afternoon only about 2 inches tall but perfect in every detail. Brought a smile to my face.

Evening all , he is very cheeky, full of mischief I am sure if I open the window he would not go, he never leaves my side sits on my head for hours thankfully he never seem to poo on me haha. If I shut his cage up he constantly click ill I open it again..
My positive for the day I got some flour so I can now make some bread. Well I didn’t get it my friend did.. she works nights at the supermarket and they are allow 2 bags. Well 2 of any one item.. so that was very kind of her...

I love budgies. I had 3 when I was growing up. They seem to have such a sense of humour as they're always up to mischief - or mine were.

Lavender Glorious day here and we are actually going for a little walk away from our home!!! So exciting. We have filled in our forms (one for me and one for DH) confirming where we live, who we are, our dates of birth, and most importantly why we are out and about. So we have ticked "walking the dogs/taking exercise" and so if we are stopped by the Police we can show them the form (and then stand well back I think!) No up to date and self-signed form and we will be fined £135., so you can see that the lockdown is being taken very seriously here. We are scared, everyone is scared or should be and so they need to think about others as well as themselves and stick to the rules, I think. Not been near a shop for over a week, although I hear the shops are open and stocked, thank heavens.
Great news about your Clematis. I hate it when they snap like that, but they always grow back - or mine have always done. Do you know what name/colour it is?
Annie do hope you have sunbeams and plenty of them to bring you cheer ..... and to show up all the nooks and crannies that anyone would need to be cleaning 24/7 to keep on top of and that show every speck of dust and fluff in the spring light. I give up in my house - I just blame the animals (and the spiders - I won't kill them.) Is it warm enough for you to sit outside yet or, at least have the door or windows open for some of the time? Had a lovely mail from my Scottish friend who lives in the USA this morning. She always makes me laugh and largely because she cannot bear to think that she actually lives in a country (where her AC's work) which is run by the Orange Ronald McDonald ! She pointed out that her local supermarket reserves daily shopping between 8am and 9am for "seniors" or disabled folk. Good plan! Unfortunately, she also points out that the shop opens at 7am and this allows the equivalent of a football crowd turning up for a Beatles concert to charge in and strip the shelves in about 10 minutes. So, my friend and her neighbour have decided that there's only any point in going to the supermarket for the exercise ! Nothing to buy. She also asked whether I know of anyone who would be willing to part exchange A Lump from the White House for a pack of toilet rolls ! I'd have to think about that one.... Do hope that you and little David are having a good Saturday without Rugby to distract you .

Joce I am so sorry, shall I get it removed? My intention was to point out that if the young are having difficulty how much more careful we should all be.

I'm not shopping, having my hair done or anything which means I have to interact with others. Our AC would be very cross with us if we did and so would our neighbours. I will know in a few weeks the real colour of my hair!!

Sorry if my post upset, I think I maybe taking this whole thing more seriously than some. A week ago I was going out and hugging friends.

Hope you are all coping in these perculiar times. I haven't felt well these last two days, it may have been delayed shock following my fall, although I felt well the following day. Anyway onwards and upwards.
I don't go out very much at all, in fact when my granddaughter moved I couldn't face going out without her for two years, we used to go shopping and have lunch together. I have moved on from then, however, and probably go to the shop once a month. I have been this week with the usual results, nothing on the shelves. I will manage with what I have in. A notice came through the door yesterday with a "Can We Help You" from the village hall which was nice.

Nonnie I am glad you are up and running with the internet, I do hope all this "traffic" that will result from this isolation will mean these internet suppliers can keep up.

Grandmafrench you are very restricted now, I hope you are ok - keep on keeping on. I have a feeling we will be in the same situation very soon here i.e. total lockdown. Germany have just done that.

One good thing for today - the sun is shining and my clematis, which got destroyed in the wind last year, completely snapped in half, is now showing some leaves and has started climbing again, outside the front door
Just going to have a look at the thread Annie on Health and Safety. Your grandchildrens comments made me laugh, they can be trusted to make us smile, can't they.
