Cataract op yesterday- any helpful hints?

My stepfather aged 87y had his first eye done in November. He said his eye felt ‘gritty’ for a few days at first but was reassured this was normal.

He did his own eye drops 4 times a day. The nurse said pull your bottom eyelid down gently to make a ‘pouch’ a little pocket to put the eye drops in.

I think he was quite proud not to need help!

He gets the other eye done next month and is really pleased with his better vision.

Good luck!

I had a cataract operation (under sedation) yesterday and I was wondering if anyone has any positive, helpful hints about coping over the next day or two. I have DH at home who is helping with drops etc , but is it normal to feel a bit queasy and spaced out - as well as eye being sore?
Thanks for reading, positive thoughts only, please!
