Well we have reached another 1000 posts so time for another thread. Welcome.

Nonnie Sat 13-Jun-20 16:21:16

Bit late today and can see I have missed quite a lot. My take on things:

Flutter good to hear from you. I have only recently found my motivation so fully understand how you feel. I think in part it is because my life has always been so busy that I am not used to having so much time to think but I am improving now so hope for us all.

raficha that sounds like a lack of self confidence to me. Have you been blamed for too many things in the past? Has someone made you feel inferior? If you can, try to look at the things you do well and, at the same time, look around you and see how everyone else is imperfect too.

All this talk of mountains has brought back happy memories for me of a trip to New Zealand. Thanks

I am hoping to meet up with friends in the next couple of weeks when the weather is better. Just one at a time in their or our garden. No urge to go shopping, have looked in my wardrobes and have far too many clothes.

Joce345 Sat 13-Jun-20 11:03:07

Hello all
Annie bet that’s strange no unmentionables that is a definitely a positive.. think you are right about rafichagran Annie...
hope you are feeling ok Annie ...

Have a good weekend all. Don’t know what I wiall find to do with my self..

Would love to be looking over the mountains with you Annie.
Remember going when my kids were small camping. Waking up with the mountains all round us and sheep out side our camper van.
You give a very lovely description of them, very enchanting...
What I remember of them the are.. beautiful...

Anniebach Sat 13-Jun-20 10:50:30

Hi all x

How are things today?

I have a positive, no unmentionables to wash except for two
milk unmentionables ?

Anniebach Fri 12-Jun-20 22:26:20

I could be so wrong but I think something has squashed
rafichagran’s confidence,

Doodle Fri 12-Jun-20 22:22:14

annie you have posted exactly what I was thinking of saying.
There may well be others at work who are having the same problem as you in taking on more than their usual load. Has anyone said anything to upset you or is it your own anxiety that is causing you to worry?

Anniebach Fri 12-Jun-20 22:13:46

rafichagran please don’t feel guilty, you have anxiety and I know it can be torture, so please stop the guilt, there are people worse off than you and there are people better off than
you. So no guilt.

So new rules introduced at work and they keep changing, this
must be because of the virus, you fear getting one rule wrong ?
Why should you ? You are an intelligent lady, you know your
job, the virus is an unknown thing, be kind to yourself, stop
doubting your ability to adjust .

What do you do to relax ? Or is relaxing difficult?

No more guilt, anxiety is torturous but it can be calmed ,

Hugs x

rafichagran Fri 12-Jun-20 21:49:05

Thankyou Annie The job is not new to me I have done it for ages, but as with everything else, the job has changed due to CV, and we have all had to become more flexible and learn new things. My partner is very laid back, and to be fair he does not understand anxiety, but he is kind and will take the pressure of me in other ways. I accept I am lucky, but it does not stop the feelings I have.
I know others are worse of than me and sometimes I feel guilty that I feel like this. This forum is helpful in that people who post on here understand.

Anniebach Fri 12-Jun-20 21:28:32

rafichagran. Is it a fairly new job ? Do you set high standards
for yourself ? in the home etc.

There is much anxiety and fear in the country now, we are
swamped with them. Please don’t be harsh with yourself, I can
tell you this and it is a fact, there are two well known charities
who support people with anxiety , depression etc, they are going at full speed, so many calls from people in distress.

It’s good you are seeing your GP, have you seen him/her
recently? How long have you been taking the medication?

Forgive my questions please ?

Thank heaven you have an understanding husband . You can
come through this my love , I got through similar. You talk here as often as you need, we are all here for each other , talking helps. X

rafichagran Fri 12-Jun-20 20:25:50

Sorry bigger, not bugger.

rafichagran Fri 12-Jun-20 20:24:31

Thankyou everyone, this forum does help. I am on medication for my anxiety.
You are right Doodle I am lucky having such a calm, chilled out partner. It would not do for both of us to be stressed.
I do appreciate your kind words, and find it so helpful to post on here. I can say what I feel in the post.
I also find that when I am anxious and overthinking, I really do not need too. I think I make the problems bugger than they are.

Doodle Fri 12-Jun-20 20:10:26

annie it’s funny isn’t it how nature can stop you in its tracks in awe and wonder. You describe your beautiful mountains so well. DH and I have never been ones for sitting on a beach. We love the sea, coastal walks but mountains hold a special fascination for me. Glad you are still doing the cross stitch. Thank goodness for audio books. What a boon to so many. Hope you enjoy them.
flutterby nice to hear from you. Glad you’ve got a garden to give you something to be interested in. We are still having deliveries of food and only doing walks where we don’t meet people much. Have you tried joining an online library? That way you could try out some books and if not to your liking change it for another. I am reading The Testament at the moment. I think it is the sequel to the Handmaidens Tale which was on TV. I didn’t watch the series or read the first book so I am struggling with some of the characters in the new book.
rafichagran you sound a bit stressed. If you can tell us, what is it you are trying to learn every day. Is it things connected with you job or just things in general. Maybe you are trying to do too much. Believe me a relaxed partner is a blessing.
Are you on any medication for your anxiety? If not (or even if you are) a visit to the GP might be in order to see if you can have some help. You know you can always post on here whenever you like to talk to others who understand. Take care.
joce I do hope that nurse is ok. With a young baby at home it must be very worrying for her. Hope you have good news of her soon.
lavender I am not any good at art either. One look at my painting will prove that ?. It’s just a lockdown hobby as we weren’t allowed out for 12 weeks.

Joce345 Fri 12-Jun-20 18:08:55

Annie it’s sounds so beautiful where you are, I would love to see the mountains every day.. hope you are feeling better today.. I agree with lavender you are inspiration to us all..

Thank you lavender for your kind words.. we have more rain again today..

ranfichagran sorry your down hope you feel better soon.

sending hug to all

lavenderzen Fri 12-Jun-20 16:33:55

Just seen the other posts (I was on the other page!) Doodle glad you are doing your painting. I have never been any good at art, its a special thing I think.
Rafichagran nice to hear from you. I am sure you are doing very well with the new things you are learning but I do understand what you are saying. I used to think when I worked at the university, should I really deserve to be here, someone will find out at some point! That feeling rarely left me for all those years.
Joyce how nice to receive a card from the hospital staff, you have done sterling work making the bags. I hope you get good news about the young nurse soon (I have said a prayer for her for a positive outcome).
xx

lavenderzen Fri 12-Jun-20 16:26:30

Hello everyone
Annie I understand what you are saying, I watch what is happening in the country and wonder what on earth is going on. Don't be sad, I know its hard sometimes, but you are an inspiration to me and we are all here and wishing you well xx
Glad to hear from you Flutterby. Take care.
It's been another strange day, I hoped my books would be here but no. Went out for a walk in the tippling rain with little friend, nice to get some fresh air though. Every day seems much of a muchness to me at the moment.
Hope the x-ray goes well Nonnie for your husband.
Take care everyone, stay safe, love to all xx

Joce345 Fri 12-Jun-20 15:42:22

Hello all, how’s everyone doing?
Had a lovely post card yesterday from the hospital, thanking me for the scrub bags, how lovely was that no need so glad to help.. it has a photo of the young nurse along with some more, it doesn’t say how she is, I wonder and pray, hopefully I will find out, she has a young baby 9 months old.. God Bless our NHS..

rafichagran Fri 12-Jun-20 15:35:39

Glad you have moved WhyI hope things improve for you.
AnnieI am sorry you are sad, you must remember you are a inspiration to others, and very kind and caring.
Doodle ,Lavenderzen Nonnie Joce, I hope you are all well and ok. Sorry if I have missed anyone.
My anxiety has gone through the roof,I am still working, and trying every day to learn new things and then things change again. I always feel I must have made a error, I don't even know if I have. My partner gets angry about my stressing. ( he worries it will make me ill), also he does not get anxious at all.
I wonder if I work 24/27 as I am so anxious and always going over things in my head.
Anxiety takes over in other areas of my life and I sometimes wish I could feel normal.
I think it is a stressful time and a sad time for alot of people.I feel really on edge. I just need to stop this anxiety from getting worse. Thank goodness I can offload to the kind posters on this forum.

Anniebach Fri 12-Jun-20 14:46:59

flutterby lovely to see you x. I find holding a book difficult so
now buy audio books, listen to them in bed .recently I am so into books I read when young , the Bronte’s, Wilkie Collins etc, and books of poetry.

Doodle I wish you could see our mountains, they change colour, grey and mysterious, pink and lilac - when we have sun.

They move too ! When they seem close - rain, when further away - sun, I still remember a magical moment years ago, before I had my car so many years ago, in my teens, I was crossing the high peak by bus, suddenly the sky, the mountains, the grass verges were all lilac , as if the bus windows had been painted, the driver stopped and we just sat
in awe.

Keep painting, I am going to do some cross stitching now x

Doodle Fri 12-Jun-20 14:28:56

Raining here too annie and cold. Do you get mist on the mountains when it rains. I’m one of those strange people who love dark skies and moody mountains as much as the sunshine on the slopes.
Is the cross stitch still coming along? I am still doing my painting. It seems never ending.
Hope everyone is doing well. x

Flutterby1 Fri 12-Jun-20 14:26:12

Hi all sorry not been in touch for. Wee while but I have been having problems on and off with iPad. I think I have way too much on it so will have to delete few apps and photos.
However I am here to ask how everyone is doing.
So much unrest and worry in the world right now. It’s sometimes difficult not to worry and just keep praying that things will get better soon.
Great news that Joyce has moved. Very happy for her.
I hope the nurse that tested positive is ok.
Nonnie Hope you enjoy your chauffeur driven drive to the countryside.
Doodle you gave a lovely picture to my mind in sharing about the little 3yr old girl.
Nice day here in Scotland. Sun is shining so it’s very pleasant. I have been planting up some pots for the garden.
I am sure I am not alone in feeling this but at times I just can’t motivate myself in doing much although I do try but my heart is just not in it. I have still not been shopping as getting deliveries although I have been out a few walks ( may have a little walk this afternoon).
Annie, Doodle, Nonnie, Joyce,Lavender, Why and apologies to those I have not mentioned by name. It’s so good to talk.
Take care, stay safe and have a good day.
Oh I am not a great reader but I do like to read now and again. A book has to get me from page 1. I enjoy family type stores so if anyone could recommend a book I would be grateful. Has anyone read Saving Missy?
Ok I am off for wee walk. flowers for all.

Anniebach Fri 12-Jun-20 11:48:38

Hi all x

nonnie I so hope you have your family holiday soon x

How is everyone ?

Needless to say - it’s raining here

Nonnie Fri 12-Jun-20 10:32:17

Hi all. Not a lot going on here, cold windy and will be wet soon.

DS is now trying to make an outing about DH's x-ray. Suggests he drives, we both go, and then have a countryside ride. I'm amused that he hasn't accounted for the fact that we both drive! Hope we get our family holiday and then I will be able to show them I am not'elderly' whatever my birth date says grin

Joce345 Thu 11-Jun-20 22:13:52

Night Doodle.. ?

night all.. ??

Annie hope you are ok .. ?

Doodle Thu 11-Jun-20 21:58:18

joce yes it rained here again today too. Not so nice being out when it’s wet and windy.
Hope you are ok.
Take care

Doodle Thu 11-Jun-20 21:56:12

nonnie hope your husbands knee is ok. Enjoy your trip out.
Sorry you are feeling sad annie. There are times when I stop looking at the news because it’s all so depressing.

I saw something lovely today. We went for a walk and I saw a little girl about 3 years old out with her dad. They were standing the other side of a small water fountain in the local park. Her face was a picture of delight. Bright eyes and big smile as she watched the water shooting up. She was mesmerised. Standing on top toes, she reached out with her hand till she could touch the water then giggled with joy when the water ran over her fingers. It was such a lovely picture. Such innocent fun playing with water.
For some reason, I am very tired tonight so going to have an early night and read in bed.
annie I hope tomorrow is a better day.
Sleep tight all. moon

Joce345 Thu 11-Jun-20 12:32:23

Annie I agree with you... such a sad strange time we are all living in. It’s bad enough having to live with so much sorrow, and pain, with out all the hate... sadly there is little we can do to change any of it.. if only.. sending love and hugs Annie ..?

Nonnie hope your cleaning has gone ok, busy busy..

Doodle is rained hear for the last 3 days.. what to do?

Lavender I love a good book...
A man that read lives a 100 life’s, A man that doesn’t lives but one.. don’t know where I’ve heard that...

Hope everyone has a peaceful day ..
