Anyone with experience of Suprapubic Catheter

As a District Nurse I had a number of patients with these who after an initial adjustment period coped very well. Hopefully a specialist nurse will be involved to help get this established and managed.

The male patient in question (PIQ) has coped with usual through the penis catheter intermittently a couple of weeks or so at a time.
This time more weeks than before, not sure but probably 10 weeks, two changes, and a few infections. Proposal is surgery to fit one direct to bladder.
Anyone with experience of practical living with such a device, themselves or partner.
