Felt like I had my stubbed my left toe in the knuckles section
Five weeks ago doctor put me on a course of anti-biotics.
Problem cleared up,though problem has returned, and the reddish colour has reappeared
I can only think it MIGHT have been the prawns I eat.
Thoughts any one,thanking you advance.

Might it be gout - did your GP consider this?

My first thought is gout my big toes almost glow when I have a bad bout . If it really gets worse you will know about it because you cannot bear anthing tight on it and walking is difficult . I have special wide shoes I have to wear when suffering ,

Gout doesn't like seafoods.

My friend cannot eat seafood. Brings on his gout

My GP once mistook a persistent chilblain for an infected toenail. I had had no experience of chilblains and neither, apparently, had he. He put me on a five day course of antibiotics which, of course, did bugger all. What a waste.

Thanks for all your replys, toe is now settling down,
won't be eating prawns for a little while.
Hoping that the small cans of sardines and the like will be okay.
Can I just ask if Avocados and fresh cut beet root are okay.
