Hello , a new thread, welcome all x

I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !

Anniebach Mon 21-Sept-20 11:53:54

Think I should go sit on the naughty step .

Doodle yes, I love the way my dogs cock their heads and look at me when I talk them, they understand Welsh too,
it amuses people when I say ‘caead ceg’ when they bark -
shut up !

Doodle Mon 21-Sept-20 11:39:00

Morning all.
Scaredycat glad you are trying to keep up your trips to town and going out. I too wish more people would wear masks.
Joce that must have given you such a shock to lose your diamond. So glad you got it back need if your SIL had to take the kitchen apart to look for it. ?
Chrissy glad your arm is getting better. Yes, why do people have masks under their chin or below their nose. I can’t see the point in that.
Lavender good to hear you had a productive day and a good night’s sleep.
Annie your two dogs must bring you comfort. I love the way that dogs cock their heads when you talk to them, like they are listening to every word. ?
Nonnie that sounds a lovely idea to eat with the family on FaceTime and you didn’t have to do the cooking either ?
Lucyanne my goodness that’s an early start. Hope your hospital trip goes ok. I’ve never heard of comfrey. What is it ?
Bluesky like you I’ve never tried dope of any kind. Meryl did we miss out I wonder? ?
Have a good day all x

lucyanne Mon 21-Sept-20 11:13:28

Morning all, carer arrived at 6.30am! Love being up early as more positive in the mornings.
Annie you wild thing taking cannabis. I was put on a prescribed cannabis NHS trial for MS. Made me so sick and sleepy only lasted 3 days! Think people who smoked found it easier. The smell still makes my stomach heave.
I grow Comfrey as a green crop on the veg patch never heard of uses in medicine.
I hope you have had a better nights sleep?

Off to hospital will let you know how I get on.

Have the best day ever, love to you all dear friends. x

Nonnie Mon 21-Sept-20 11:08:39

BlueSky I think he had the throat spray once and nothing the second time.

Scardycat I think that worrying about going out is worse than doing it, when I push myself to do something I usually feel a lot better after actually doing it. Give myself a little pat on the back and see it as an achievement.

Joce so glad you found the diamond, I know it could have been replaced but it would never be the same.. Perhaps you can get the whole thing reset?

Lavender that sounds like quite a good day. You may have to hang on to the charity stuff for a while as a lot of them are not taking any at the moment. I have a pile too.

Wow you all seem to have had a more exciting youth than me, I have never even been offered any kind of drug!

Some of you might like to copy what we did last night. DiL cooked a lovely 3 course meal which DS delivered to our door. We set the dining table, lit candles, used the 'good' wine glasses and made an occasion of it. They did the same and we all ate 'together' on FaceTime, a first for us all. We had the same sort of conversations we would have had if they were here.

Today I am taking DH for an x-ray on the other knee and will potter around the shops while he is at the hospital. You have made me realise how lucky I am to live where almost everyone follows the rules and are so friendly. No, I don't live in a rural village but in a town, just a very nice town.

Joce345 Mon 21-Sept-20 10:54:27

I think that’s funny Annie. Think there was a lot did smoke it back then. Do you smoke now Annie? (I didn’t mean dope) ?
I stop smoking 20 years ago, I was a very heavy smoker but stopped after one session of hypnosis, never looked back thank goodness. Husband still smoke only out side.

Anniebach Mon 21-Sept-20 10:49:36

No BlueSky no hangover, and this was a time when it wasn’t
in the hands of drug dealers mixing drugs, it was grown in
peoples gardens. It was as MerylStreep said , it is prescribed
for some illnesses, there has been calls for years to make it
legal .

I am not speaking of the stronger form such as skunk.

My father use to grow Comfrey for his arthritis, yet it’s illegal
in America.

Again, cannabis it is not a cure for anxiety and depression and is an illegal drug

BlueSky Mon 21-Sept-20 10:19:17

Wow Annie was it like drinking?

Anniebach Mon 21-Sept-20 10:04:25

It is not a cure for anxiety or depression, please note

Anniebach Mon 21-Sept-20 10:02:54

Hi all x

Yes I smoked it, It was the 60’s ?, no I didn’t buy it or grow it,
or become hooked, it was holidays in a Welsh coastal village.

How is everyone today ?

BlueSky Mon 21-Sept-20 09:43:23

Hi all. I never tried it too scared of what might have happened. Never used to smoke or drink either but started drinking in my thirties ( because of unhappy marriage, that's my excuse anyway) luckily over all that now.

Joce345 Mon 21-Sept-20 08:53:30

Annie ?did you smoke it? I have never tried it.

Anniebach Sun 20-Sept-20 22:21:03

BlueSky yes I have two dogs, they sleep on my bed, after I turn off my audio book and settle down, they both raise their
heads and seem soooo interested when I tell them how I feel or what I should do the next day. x

Scaredycat thank you , do keep your confidence raising x

Joyce thank heaven you found the diamond x

Chrissy I made an error, talking to my granddaughter I said
the day had been a nightmare, sometime later we were talking
about what I had been doing , I told her and she said’ aw you’ve had a mAre ? .

lavender you have had a busy day, well done , glad you had a
good nights sleep x

MerylStreep my sister in law grew cannabis , many years ago, on holiday with her she gave me cigarette ! x

MerylStreep Sun 20-Sept-20 20:47:01

Annie
Back in my younger days I had cakes and biscuits with cannabis in them. You could feel spaced out on them but it was a pleasant feeling.
Most often when I had these was with my dear friend who had MS. Before she had her implant for pain relief cannabis was the only thing that worked. I bought it, she cooked it.

BlueSky Sun 20-Sept-20 20:43:12

Good night all x brew

lavenderzen Sun 20-Sept-20 20:25:11

Hello everyone
The stories about the new "language" the youngsters use made me smile, its like living in a parallel universe - my granddaughter is the same and goes to great pains to explain things to me smile and Nonnies story about the phone.
Hope you are alright Annie xx
My dream didn't return thank goodness and I had a good nights sleep.
I have to go for the flu jab on Wednesday, I have had one every year for a while and not had any problems, I am hoping this one will be the same, I had better not have it in my left arm because I have a bad shoulder on the left anyway.
I have had quite a productive day and done some bags for the charity from stuff in the wardrobe, things I have never worn and am never likely to!
I hope you all, dear friends, have a peaceful evening and a good night's sleep.
Take care, stay safe and lots of love xx

ChrissyR Sun 20-Sept-20 20:07:08

Evening everyone,
Nonnie Glad you didn’t have a reaction to the flu jab. The swelling on my arm is going down. That was nice for you to meet up with your DS and DIL, glad your phone is sorted smile How lovely that your DIL was bringing dinner round. Sounds like you had a lovely day.
lucyanne that made me laugh about being invited to someone’s house for the crack
Annie I’m still not sure how ‘you have had a more’ relates to a nightmare. I don’t think I’ll worry about it at my age hmm
Scaredycat I’m fed up with the amount of people who don’t wear masks. The ones that really annoy me are the ones that don’t have it over their nose or have it under their chin. I’m glad that your sister only felt poorly for the day.
[Joce] thank goodness you found the diamond, how lucky that it fell into your bag

Joce345 Sun 20-Sept-20 17:33:54

Doodle how beautiful...
I have had a bad and good afternoon.. ny daughter and grandkids came for lunch, as we were sat talking I noticed my Dimond was not in my engagement ring ? everyone down on the floor looking every where, no Dimond don’t think the little ones really new what they were looking for, Sil took pipes off the sinks no not there. Empty my hand bag tipped it upside down and low and behold the Dimond fell out ? what a relief. Grandkids were happy they got a reward for not finding what they really didn’t know they were looking for ??

Joce345 Sun 20-Sept-20 17:23:54

Lucyanne that would have been my first thought crack!! ?
Thank you i now know different ?

Scaredycat Sun 20-Sept-20 13:36:33

Hello again!
Nonnie you made me smile with your phone ‘lesson’ story. I hope you had a lovely lunch together. It sounds so nice where you live . We had our first trip into town on Friday and so many people didn,t wear them. I wish they were compulsory for shop assistants both for their safety and the customers. Also sad to see so many shops closed. Glad I did it though as I don,t want to lose what little confidence I have.
Bluesky what a great feeling both inside and out!!! Please don,t knock yourself you are always a great support.
Chrissy - glad you,ve got your flu jab - and all is well. My sister who is in remission from cancer had hers last week and felt really poorly a few hours after then felt right as rain next day. I always take notes with me to the docs otherwise you always remember something when you,ve left? Hope you had a dream free night last night.
Annie I feel for you being alone at night- just know we,re thinking of you and sending love
Nonnie -again! Enjoy your lovely food tonight - Precious times with family.
It’s sunny here today so had a nice walk while DH is at Golf and finished at my daughters for a coffee and a chat - or a ‘crack’ as they say in Cumbria LucyAnne!! Think it’s nice enough to sit outside now - dreading the Winter when it’s too cold . Have a lovely afternoon all

Anniebach Sun 20-Sept-20 12:31:48

Doodle so beautiful, thank you x

Doodle Sun 20-Sept-20 11:40:24

Lucyanne ? did you ever get invited back again?
Annie language moves on. I never did get that phase from years ago that when things were bad they were good. Something to do with Michael Jackson I seem to remember.
On one of the other threads, someone posted about a glass sculpture by Mary Branson. I have posted a link here. I thought you would like to see it. I think it’s lovely. It’s called new dawn.
www.wescover.com/p/public-sculptures-by-mary-branson-at-palace-of-westminster--PHkusg0elU
Have a good day all.

Doodle Sun 20-Sept-20 11:31:21

Joce glad your arm doesn’t hurt.
Yes I think we all hope we don’t have lockdown again.
Chrissy I think the effects of the jab should wear off quite quickly.
When I am worried about something I too find that waking up in the morning is a time of anxiety. When I get like that I try and concentrate on something completely different. Like my times table, to stop my mind ruminating.
Nonnie glad you are having a good day. Enjoy your meal with your family tonight,

Anniebach Sun 20-Sept-20 11:10:44

lucyanne I am certainly not up to date with language , at times causing much amusement for my grandchildren.

Was puzzled when my granddaughter messaged - ‘ you have had a more’, seems the ‘more’ was a reference to me saying
Something was a nightmare!

Now I know when ‘I am not with it’ I am ‘spaced out’, ?

BlueSky Sun 20-Sept-20 11:05:15

Morning all x cafe Nonnie thanks for the reassurance re the gastroscopy, did your DH have sedation or just throat spray? Annie yes it must be so much worse when you are on your own, so many people so much worse off than us, I realise that, sadly there's no solution. I believe you have two dogs? That must help. Bless them!
Have a peaceful Sunday x

lucyanne Sun 20-Sept-20 10:38:08

Good morning all the sun has come out here today.
Annie how are you feeling my love?
Read a few posts but will have to answer a few later. However I saw your post Annie about ‘spaced out’ it made me laugh. I am constantly been told I am not up to date with language which makes me anxious I do not offend.
When we moved to Cumbria I was invited to someone's house for a 'crack'. Thinking it was drugs I refused. Now I know 'crack' means coffee and a chat!
Have a good day. Virtual hugs. x
