(1001 Posts)Hello , a new thread, welcome all x
I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !
Annie I am so sorry about your knee and hip. You haven’t had a good day. Your neighbour peering in through the window must have given you such a shock. I assume she must have a key to let herself in but you would have thought she would have knocked or rung first. Don’t worry about the mess. Anyone would realise that with all your health problems you can’t do much. As Joce says, hers could be worse. I am not brilliant at housework and DH leaves loads of paperwork around. It’s quite a mess here too ?
I hope you will be able to sleep tonight and your knee and hip don’t cause you too much pain.
Nonnie hope you sleep well too and have a bit more energy tomorrow.
Scaredycat when you have your AF, is it like palpitations or your heart skipping a beat. I don’t have AF (been tested and I just have an intermittent random blip now and again) its a strange feeling. Hope you have a better night tonight.
Lucyanne oh yes please take care. Surely you didn’t used to mow the grass whilst in a wheelchair did you? That takes some nerve. ?
I like the idea of that clock. Interesting way of distracting yourself and calming the mind. I am finding it difficult to get to sleep. My mind is whirring away. I’ve started counting backwards from 100 again. Trouble is I keep losing count ?
You sound as though you have a good grip on things and have worked out your own plan for coping. It sounds like a good strategy.
Take care all and sleep well x
Aww dear Annie, do hope you are ok.
That must have been traumatic someone looking though your window, let alone letting her self in how frightening that must have been. Don’t worry about the mess hers could be worse you never know.
I do hope you are alright Annie xx
Not had a good day, damaged my arthritic knee and hip trying
to move a box of 30 unmentionables, one of my dogs is moulting because I couldn’t get her fitted in with the groomer
until 11th September. This evening a neighbour peered through the living room window and really frightened me, I
tired to get to the front door with my walker but she let
herself in, she wanted to warn me the police were next door
again. First time anyone from the Close has been in my
bungalow and it was a mess.
Annie 'not great but OK' is my stock answer for feeling rubbish. Mini tornado is a worry for both of you and adds to further anxiety. Know that you are loved by us all and surrounded by prayer. x
Doodle yes I can garden in a fashion. I prune all shrubs low, seated level and pull weeds out when they get high enough to reach. Raised veg patches. Have nearly strangled myself with the mower wire catching it in the wheel of electric chair so pay someone to cut lawns now!
On a positive note: panic attacks I have a clock that projects onto the ceiling to concentrate on while in bed. Breath to the seconds.
Anxiety: Several horrendous memories that I thought I could never get through at the time. Now when major problems arise I compare them to the past to remind me my present situation is not as big so I will get through it.
Ask for help, something as a proud person I find difficult to do.
When I feel sorry for myself I make a conscious decision to do a small kind act to cheer someone else up.
Send a card or letter to someone that is not well or alone.
Make something for charity, paint a small picture.
Bake cakes, biscuits and get a neighbour to deliver packages to folk who live alone. Today's job. Carrot cake.
Smile as it takes more muscles than a frown.
Go to bed each night having achieved 3 jobs knowing they have caused the aches and pain. It is there anyway.
Thank God I now have a bed to sleep in at night.
Pray for all the people who seem to be there and have helped me to be the person I am today.
Am I still full of fear, anxious, depressed, overwhelmed? Yes but coping today. One day at a time.
Hope you are doing OK too. x
Annie how are you today - so sorry I rabitted on without asking!! Hope you all have a better day todayxx
Morning Annie and all. I feel better today than yesterday as my A Fib came on for 3hours which always leaves me a bit tired. But positive side had a good nights sleep as a result!!
I wish I had something new to share re easing anxiety etc but for me distraction and keeping busy help and also getting outside and walking. It’s the way the thoughts just go round and round in your head and as soon as one goes another one pops up to take its place. I have so missed our holidays this year as being in beautiful scenery is always so uplifting.
Annie sounds as if you GD is being sensible. So many of the young people I have seen interviewed on TV appear to be most concerned about missing out on the social life. Yes, of course I feel sorry for them but think they should understand that we are all in this boat and we all have to deal with the weather. It really isn't anyone's fault.
I feel like I am moaning about all the people moaning!
Feeling tired but sort of OK today, hope all BDG are coping.
Hi all x
How is everyone ?
If anyone has found something which eases their anxiety,
depression etc like to share ?
Lavender thank you. Hope you are keeping ok. You sleep well too x
Good night and god bless everyone. Have a peaceful evening and a good night's sleep. Take care and love to all xx
Worrying time for all going back to school but hopefully all will be ok.
Hope everyone sleeps well tonight. x
Goodnight all x
Annie I hope she can. That would be good..
Joyce up at 7.30am ? ? hugs to you x
nonnie yes I step outside the front door but pain builds up so can’t go further . Some universities have been discussing
chartering flights to bring in students, money needed. I so
hope my granddaughter can do much on the computer, they
did when it closed in March.
Doodle hugs x
Doodle thank you.
Annie Wish nothing more than to help you..
Nonnie it’s a worrying time for all.
My poor daughter was crying today she’s doesn’t want her children to go back to school. She knows they must, doesn’t stop the worry. The kids are so excited to be going back seeing friends.
I pray they will all be safe, kids teachers and all .
Hi, don't usually come on in the afternoons, I'm procrastinating!
Annie is it possible to open the door and just take one step outside then turn around and go back in? Probably a stupid suggestion as you would probably have already done it if you could. I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing we had something useful to offer you.
Yes, worrying time for all who have people going back to uni. Will they follow the guidelines or not? Will the universities have put enough thought into precautions? Rhetorical questions.
Open University shut down during March and existing students were left unable to complete their modules. If the OU couldn't carry on what hope is there?
Glad Pooh went down well, if I get any more good ones I'll share them too. We all need a smile.
joce glad you’re doing ok.?
You know me well Annie ? x
Hello all hope everyone’s having a good day..
I was up at 7.30 this morning didn’t know there was 2 in one day ?
I was up for a phone call from my councillor at 8.30, it’s not until tomorrow. Errrr.
Aww well had a not so bad day up till now..
hugs for all
Doodle have a very small hall, no room for a scooter , deliveries and 150 unmentionables due this week,
Yes the visits from my mini tornado mean much to us both,
Not great but ok ? Thought so, hugs x
Rufus no insurance, decided to wait until Spring , thank you.
Go Freda, enjoy the Australian spring x
what damage do you think has been caused?
Annie Obviously the electrics, mainly motor and battery will need checking, as you say or, perish the thought, replacing, but it depends on how exposed those items have been. Any chance insurance involved?
Poor old Fred! I imagine soggy mid-Wales is not the best place to strip off, especially over Winter; does he fire up at all?
Freda has been locked down throughout on permanent charge and I'm not even sure if we are allowed out together because of our curfew, but I'd better try a start-up tomorrow.
She has a roadside breakdown policy with the RACV, only $1 a week, for fully comprehensive, but we'll check the fine print again tomorrow too!
We thank you for your good wishes and Good Health.
Drive carefully!
OoRoo
Annie is there a way you could get a wheelchair to get out into the garden with? Is the path from your front door level so that you have no steps? I so wish you could get out there.
I hope there is no further lockdown for you or your mini tornado. Her visits are your lifeline and must mean a lot to her too.
I’m ok. Thanks for asking, not great but ok.
Doodle I haven’t been out on the path, arthritis in knee and
hip really painful, walking so difficult and can’t have appointment with physiotherapist .
Am now anxious about younger granddaughter going back to
university, firstly her well being , secondly if it brings lockdown my mini tornado will have to stay away again .
How are you ?
