Good night everyone and God bless xx

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-20 21:28:46

nonnie as someone who use to design, make and sell knitwear at craft fairs, hand and machines, no way would I
tackle your current craft project , no way , I wish you luck x

greengrass being the sole parent there is no one to share your concerns with, I understand this, do share your fears here x

Scaredycat you did well today, I too get anxious over the deliveries, and will have a month’s of the unmentionables delivered next week , keep going for walks x

BlueSky good move telephoning for advice today x

Doodle hi x

My day started fine, elder granddaughter FaceTimed, she said
she is very interested in paintings, I told her about her grandfather being a brilliant artist, how I had much of his work framed and gave them to our daughters. I was surprised
there was nothing of his work in the family home, she then
told me her father has a bedroom filled with my darling
daughters things, poor man had told me when she died he had
burned everything. Then younger daughter sent photographs she has of her fathers paintings , so many memories I don’t
allow myself to think of, and I was so distressed that he never
saw our daughters grow up, and he would have been a wonderful grandfather. Sorry I have gone on , but am so very
sad

Hi all hope you had a pleasant afternoon. Thanks for asking about my ongoing ailment, I ended up calling 111 as I felt really poorly. It's so weird it comes in waves so I guess it's a viral thing. Pleased with 111 which I'd never called before. After questions and answers with the call handler, I went through to a nurse with more detailed questions and finally called back by a locum. She will alert the GP on Tuesday about my stomach possibly leading to regular medication/further investigations. A satisfied customer. Have a nice evening x brew

Scaredycat Sat 29-Aug-20 15:40:38

Hello everyone - can’t believe I moaned about the hot weather its really cold today!! Pleased to say yesterday got better as I got busier. Always feel more relaxed once the grocery delivery arrives and I,ve put it away. Still clean a lot of it but not quite as frantically as I did to start with. The delivery men work really hard and I,m so grateful for not having to go in the supermarket. Enjoyed our afternoon walk we are lucky to be able to get straight out into the lanes.
Blue Sky hope you feel better soon and you get to see your GP early in the week.
Nonnie so nice to hear all about your visit it sounded fun - nothing like a nice unhealthy cake to cheer you up!!
Greengg I understand how worried you must feel about your DD going back but she will be so pleased to see her friends again and the teachers will be so happy to see them all. My Grandaughter is a teacher and is looking forward to meeting her new class next week. I think a notebook is such a good idea - many a time it has helped me.
Take care everyone and hope you have a nice eveningx

Doodle Sat 29-Aug-20 14:36:17

Greengg it must be hard bringing up a child on your own. Do you have any family close by that help out? Try and be positive about your DD going to school. I am worried about school startup too although for different reasons.
I know distancing is required and I think that makes things more lonely for those on their own or who work alone at home. You are welcome here to join in whenever you feel like it. There will be others here who know exactly how you feel.
Worry and anxiety drain the joy out of life. I am sure your DD will be ok. Take care

greengreengrass Sat 29-Aug-20 13:04:13

Hello there all.
Not thinking very straight today due to lingering anxiety, but wanted to say thanks as this thread helps.

About being on your own, older single parent here, DD due to start school again on Thursday. Think I've got to the point where I've worried so much now I'm just numb.

As someone said you can feel terribly alone and get through it.

My coping strategy is my A4 notebook. Morning, get notebook out, date at top, what to do, what to get done.

I'm not feeling as bad as I did back in March but still lonely.

gg

Bluesky it does sound as though you have a chill of some sort. Have you made an appointment or do you have to phone the GP on Tuesday? Hope you are ok over the bank holiday. Look after yourself.
Nonnie it is so lovely to read such good posts from you. Glad you enjoyed your meal. That knitting sounds like a mammoth task. What are you knitting, if I may ask?
Annie how are you today.
Dry but overcast here. A walk soon I think I case it rains.
Scaredycat, Lavender and all , hope you have a good day.

Nonnie Sat 29-Aug-20 10:57:20

Hi all

Sorry about that BlueSky hope you feel better soon. Sounds like your GP is OK.

Everyone else - you all sound as if things are not too bad at the moment, such an improvement all round.

Yes, thanks for asking, we had a lovely time, they brought home grown veg and very unhealthy cakes plus artisan bread, which we thoroughly enjoyed. They have found an online thing where you arrange to buy food at the end of the day very cheap. You have no idea what you are getting so it is rather fun. They said it is really good in Edinburgh but they are not often there! We are in our 'bubble' with them and it feels very secure as they are even more cautious than we are.

I am also having a good day so far, went out and rampaged with the hedge trimmer. I have given up on waiting for the wind to die down, it will just have to blow round the garden if it is not there when I have finished my coffee.

DS is coming to take DH to the cemetery and then to a specialist shop they both love. This will give me some me time to get on with my current craft project. If you knit you will understand how big it is to knit 2500 g of 4 ply on size 11/3 needles with a deadline!

Keep up the positivity BDG.

So sorry BlueSky yes see your GP

BlueSky Sat 29-Aug-20 10:14:05

Morning all. Annie I had the Covid done at a drive in testing centre. I had already mentioned the tight chest to the GP he sai my chest was clear but gave me some antibiotics in case there was a mild infection there. I couldn't finish them as they gave me this awful stomach. This morning I feel a bit fluey, so can't wait for Tues to go back. x brew

Anniebach Sat 29-Aug-20 10:05:39

Hi all x

BlueSky yes see your GP again, if I may ask ? As well as the Covid test did the GP speak of any other possibles for the tight
chest ?

BlueSky Fri 28-Aug-20 23:42:59

Thanks Doodle yes I thought I was getting better. Glad I had the Covid test too otherwise I would be worrying about that. Sleep well all x

Doodle Fri 28-Aug-20 23:24:02

bluesky sorry you are still experiencing the same issues. I think it would be a good idea to go back to the GP if it’s still continuing. Sleep well x

BlueSky Fri 28-Aug-20 23:03:42

Thank you Doodle still issues with my stomach and tight chest. DH wants me to go back to the doctor after the bank holiday. Good night all x brew

Doodle Fri 28-Aug-20 22:31:11

I’m in late today. I thought I posted this morning but it seems to have vanished into the ether.
scaredycat hope you managed to stave off the anxiety today. Keeping busy is a good way to do that.
joce it is so good to hear you being positive. Glad things are a bit better.
lucyanne I like doing crafts too. Like annie I am doing some cross stitch at the moment but quilting is a favourite too.
Do you have any company during the day or only when your carers come in? Hope you are feeling better in yourself.
Hello carillion thank you for popping in xxx
lavender your four legged friend sounds like a good companion. Nice of your DGD to ring. Do you get to see her often?
annie something better will come along for your DGD I am sure, if this one doesn’t work out. Hope she’s ok.
Sleep well all. Only good dreams x

Anniebach Fri 28-Aug-20 21:18:30

ScaredyCat yes Dr Weekes does explain much about the
physical problems which comes with anxiety , most helpful.
Sorry you had an anxiety start to the day, I do hope it eased, you are already brave , you have done much this week x

Joyce yes feeling positive is a great positive x

lucyanne hello, hobbies are such a help when coping with
anxiety, what craft work interests you ?
You said in an earlier post you have a carer who takes you out
in a wheelchair, I was going to buy an electric wheelchair back
in April , all arranged then came lockdown, I now hope for
next year if the damage I fear has been caused to Fred ,my
scooter’, then it will be a wheelchair, you have anxiety?
We all do here, so we certainly understand x

Carillion hugs and love x

lavender better you have your Tesco order delivered after
that ordeal you suffered when you went to the store, I am sure
your friend will be the other end of the phone should you need her / him. Granddaughters are a joy, i adore my two.
You walked in the fields with your four legged little man and
sat a while on a wall, fantastic . ? x

I am trying to help my elder granddaughter be positive, doesn’t seem they will get their dream house, she really loves it bless her.

I have done the usual today, crosswords, Killer Suduko, cross stitching .

lavenderzen Fri 28-Aug-20 19:54:52

Hello everyone, hope you are all ok.
Annie how are you? xx
Joyce you are doing well, I am so pleased.
Doodle how are you.
Nonnie hope you enjoyed your meal.
Scardeycat hope your anxious feeling has lessened as the day has gone one. Did the delivery arrive? I have Tesco delivery here, prefer it than going into the supermarket at the moment, although I have managed it twice, the first time I cried, but the second time I managed it with my friends phone number in my pocket!
Hello Lucyanne glad you are feeling better today.
It's been another dull and dark day here, had a walk on the fields and sat on the wall whilst four legged little man had a snoot around.
I haven't got around to doing very much else tbh although my lovely granddaughter rang me to see how I was, she is such a joy.
Hope everyone has a peaceful evening and a restful night. Take care and lots of love to all including the friends I have missed out xx

Carillion01 Fri 28-Aug-20 19:28:07

Annie and all other posters xxxxxxxxx

lucyanne Fri 28-Aug-20 17:29:07

Hello everyone thank you for remembering me. I am now thinking straighter and drinking plenty of water after my long sleep.
Doodle yes I just have a care agency just to get me in and out of bed. I have lots of hobbies used to distract my anxious thoughts, crafts are my favorite.
I pray for you all, hope you've managed to get through another day. Sleep well, happy dreams.
Lets hope tomorrow is a better day.

Joce345 Fri 28-Aug-20 16:48:01

Sorry sent that before I finished.
Annie results from the girl at work?
Hope all is well for your DGD.

Joce345 Fri 28-Aug-20 16:45:57

Hello all I’m plodding on in a good way today. Didn’t get up before 9 this morning but don’t suppose I will do it every day.. still feels like a positive..
rain rain and more rain doesn’t help really.

Scaredycat sorry you are having a ad day.

Annie hope you are having a good day, did your granddaughter hear any results?

Scaredycat Fri 28-Aug-20 11:34:59

Morning Annie and everyone. Bit of a shaky anxious day today but waiting for Tesco’s delivery so that should keep me busy for a while! I have 2 books by Claire Weekes which I bought quite a while ago and I still dip into them at times. They are interesting and explain quite a lot re the physical as well as the mental problems we experience with Anxiety.
Nonnie enjoy your meal with your DS and DiL we havent had anyone here to eat yet but as the Winter approaches sitting in the garden will get a nit nippy so I must try to get braver.
Have a good day allxx
