After eating a scrummy Tunnocks chocolate bar, I wondered if it's OK to eat treats after the age of 75. Will it make a lot of difference? I don't mean fast food every day or even week just things to make life a little sweeter!

I’m sure that the odd bar of Chocolate will not harm you, as long as you are not following a special diet for health reasons, Diabetes etc. My Mother used to say ‘A little bit of what you fancy does you good’ and loved her seafood and had quite expensive tastes with the choices she made!

I love the Hotel Chocolate reduced sugar chocolates that my daughter bought for me last Christmas, but sadly they stopped producing them after the Covid-19 lockdown began.

I love a Tunnock's caramel wafer and have been known to eat one, after buying a packet, a few days running.

Loved this treat for as far back as I can remember and I am now 70. Age will not stop me eating them. My weight does!

Another indulgence are Morrison's salted caramel cornettos.

I'm with JuliaM's mother on that saying grin. So - yes, eat what you fancy after 75 but keep it in moderation'. However, that should apply to any age.

Why s it any different after 75 to 70 or 65 or 80 I don’t get what you mean really
Give yourself treats, within reason, whatever age you are

If you’ve got to 75 and have to ask permission I feel sorry for you.

Have I missed something? What is the significance of the age 75?

Yes! You may as well enjoy the rest of your life. Within reason, of course, but no point in existing on a diet of veg and fruit only and being miserable.

I'm over 80 and if I eat what I like I still gain weight - so sorry, you can eat what and as much you like but the result will be the same. sad
