Hope everyone has found this x

ChrissyR Wed 28-Oct-20 22:08:13

Evening everyone
Annie sounds like you have wonderful memories of things that you used to do with your daughter.
Scaredycat Yes, the initial relief on hearing the news was amazing but that gradually wears off. I’ve been making a list of things I need to get for Christmas.
BlueSky I hope you can get an appointment to speak to the GP soon.
lavenderzen I’m happy that your daughter’s test came back negative, you must be relieved.
Doodle I’ll try to come up with some nice things to do. Sorry you got drenched on your walk. We’ve had such a lot of rain here too.
Sleep well everyone x

Nonnie Thu 29-Oct-20 10:14:35

and the more often the better Annie if it helps us. I can't imagine how hard it is to not be able to go out. We stay in out of choice but at least we know we can go for a walk. xx

Bluesky same here but not health, pretty much anything else I see or hear can start me off. If there is a disaster somewhere I have been or have a connection with it worries me. If I get a message from one of the other members of Compassionate Friends it is a mixed blessing, I want to support them but sometimes it is very upsetting.

I don't think you are being unnecessary, we sanitise everything and don't even open the post for 3 days. Why not? Not hard and with the numbers increasing the way they are we need to do all we can.

Doodle I recognise that sort of numb feeling after a disaster, how it is hard to process everything.

Oh yes, Scardycat housework all done so today my 'something nice' is a review with the dentist and plan for implants and a session with the hygienist!

Lavender such great news about the test, what a relief.

Chrissey good for you making lists for Christmas, wish I could. Think I will just have to send DS money and ask him to get presents for all his family. Will ask other DiL what I can buy online to send to her parents and will just buy for her and DS as I can at least drop off presents to them. Wondering if we will even be able to zoom them or whether it will be overloaded and we won't be able to get one. sad

Positives: DiL made us avocado and chocolate pudding for last night, very rich. DH is driving me to the dentist because we have to wait outside until they are ready. I will walk home in the rain.

BlueSky Thu 29-Oct-20 10:45:24

Morning all x I’m still an hour ahead, up early I’m nearly ready for lunch and why not? Raining but at least it’s reliable, not a tropical shower followed by bright sunshine like abroad! We’ll drive to the nearest town to put a cross in their Remembrance garden in memory of my MiL’s uncle who was killed in France at the very beginning of WW1. She kept this up as long as she lived and now we’ll carry it on.
Nonnie I was horrified by the tragic events in France as we loved going there for our holidays. I think that was the beginning of me going off holidays abroad, but I do realise that it can and sadly does happen everywhere. Anyway Covid put the proverbial final nail in the coffin.
Positives: What’s to complain about?
Have a pleasant day x cafe

ChrissyR Thu 29-Oct-20 15:08:16

Afternoon everyone
Nonnie It’s hard because none of us know what restrictions will be in place over Christmas, everything is so up in the air. I hadn’t even thought about the possibility of not being able to have a Zoom meeting but that’s a good point as, if we’re under strict restrictions, there will be so many trying to get on there. Hope your visit to the dentist goes well.
BlueSky Raining here as well, we’ve had days of it now, very depressing. That’s lovely that you’re going to put a cross in the Remembrance garden for your MIL’s uncle. As you say, I think that we have to accept that bad things can happen anywhere.
Joce In case you log in, I hope you’re ok.
Hope everyone else is doing ok x

Scaredycat Thu 29-Oct-20 16:27:49

Hello all.
Lavender - great news about your daughter - what a relief for you all. Do you have an actual moving date yet?
Doodle - that was an adventurous walk! Being out in a storm is one of my scary things although I love being indoors and watching one.
Nonnie - I,ve bought a few Xmas presents online already as I think it will get really busy later on. Mostly will do money though with a little accompanying gift. I didn,t know Avacado went with Chocolate it sounds weird but ovbviously tastes good. Good luck with the “something nice” visit to the dentist and hope you are able to sort out the implants.
Bluesky - I saw the terrible news from France. How people can be so evil is beyond me.It wouldn,t put me off France though and hope one day we can all travel safely again. We used to love travelling the SW USA and even with all my fears it never occurred to me we could get shot!! What a lovely thing you are doing carrying on your MIL tradition - I hope it will be dry for you.
Annie - I hope you are ok today.
Maybe tomorrow the sun will shine - fed up with rain now.
A pleasant evening to everyonexx

lavenderzen Thu 29-Oct-20 20:17:11

Hope you are ok Annie xx
Hope everyone has a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep.
Take care, stay safe, love to all xx

BlueSky Thu 29-Oct-20 20:48:58

Good night all. Hope you are ok Annie
Sleep well x

Flutterby1 Thu 29-Oct-20 21:24:43

Hello dear friends. Not posting much tonight. I am having difficult family times and therefore my anxiety is not great.
I apologise for not getting to read all your posts but I do think of you all.
I have been on the games forum to try and distract myself a little although not really working.
I hope I can rejoin the wonderful friendships I have been given on this post.
Hope you all, have a good nights rest. flowers

BlueSky Thu 29-Oct-20 21:40:36

Sorry to hear you are having problems Flutterby. Take care flowers

ChrissyR Thu 29-Oct-20 22:31:09

Hope everyone is ok. Sleep well x

Doodle Thu 29-Oct-20 22:41:37

Evening all.
Nonnie if we hear of something terrible happening somewhere it’s bound to cause upset to people who can empathise with others. Try not to think about it happening to you or yours. I usually ask God to comfort the people involved.
Not sure I would count a visit to the hygienist as something pleasant but I hope it went well ?
Bluesky we had brunch today as DH had an appointment for a Doppler test. Made it seem a long time till our evening meal ? it’s nice of you to carry on your MiL’s tradition.
Chrissy no idea what we’ll be doing at Christmas if anything.
The weather is a real downer isn’t it. I put on a positive spin and say if I can’t go out I will do some crafting to cheer me up.
scaredycat I bought my first Christmas present tonight for my DGD. You are more organised than me.
You can’t get away from trouble wherever you go. Best not to think about it and hope for the best.
Lavender I hope things are relaxing a bit for your DD now that the test result was ok.
flutterby it is family stuff that always gets to me too. I am sorry you’re low. It’s so hard when it’s family. I hope whatever it is resolves ok soon. You come in here whenever you feel like it, just to read or contribute. Take care.
Annie hope you are ok.
Thinking of all the BDG posters. Sleep well and have a peaceful night.

Nonnie Fri 30-Oct-20 09:58:43

BlueSky lovely to hear about the cross. My family didn't lose anyone in the war (not a big family) but it always makes me think about my brother who died at the time of year. He was in the RAF, only 19 when he died.

Flutterby sorry to read that you are having 'difficult times' I know we are all here for you whether you have posted or not. This small group understand.

Positives? I have concluded that, at the moment, it doesn't take much. On my walk back from the dentist I met the next door neighbours and we had a lovely chat which continued on the pavement outside, that cheered me a bit.

Have to go back to the dentist to see the specialist who does implants so actually have something in the diary for late November. Let's not forget the exciting outing next week - MOT grin

Another grey day here but going for a walk round the reservoir with a friend so that is something to be glad about. Nearly finished a Christmas sweater for someone I don't know and several more projects after that. Need to choose some yarn and get it ordered.

Had a lovely long video call with DS and GS this morning, 'made a cake' using a bus, playdough and lots of other things! He can't stand still and bounces all the time. Helped DS make a decision which made me feel useful.

Not a bad day so far, hope you all have at least one positive in your life today.

ChrissyR Fri 30-Oct-20 10:32:03

Morning everyone
Doodle Hope your DH’s doppler test went ok. I have started sorting my diamond painting stuff out, still haven’t felt like doing it again but hopefully soon.
Nonnie I’m glad that you got to have a chat with the neighbours. How lovely that you’ve had a video call with your DS and GS this morning.
Flutterby I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having difficult family times at the moment, I hope it gets resolved soon.
Scaredycat I agree that it will probably get harder to order things online as we get nearer Christmas. I’m going to buy my cards and wrapping paper etc today in town in case we all end up in another lockdown.
Annie Joce BlueSky lavenderzen Hope you’re all ok, sorry if I’ve missed anyone. Have a good day everyone x

Scaredycat Fri 30-Oct-20 16:59:13

Hi everyone on yet another dull grey day.
Flutterby- sorry you have problems,as others have said family worries are the worst.I hope they are resolved soon. Thinking of you.
Nonnie- glad your dental appointment went well and that you are seeing the implant specialist soon. I had a lovely Syrian man do my last ones - what a long way from home he was.
Hope you enjoyed being with your friend - how lovely a walk by the water and a friend to chat with .
“Bus” cake sounds lovely as does your bouncy little GS.
Chrissy - good you,re thinking about painting again. Art is so absorbing and makes you forget everything for a while.
It’s good you go,into town, I wish I felt more comfortable doing that but we,ve only been a couple of times since Lockdown.
Doodle,Bluesky,Joce,Lavender, Chrissy and all I may have forgotten hope today has been a good one for you all.xx

Scaredycat Fri 30-Oct-20 17:15:35

Annie how are you today ? I missed you out I am so sorry! I have just had some sad news that made me distracted.

Flutterby1 Fri 30-Oct-20 17:20:52

Thank you so much for your support Bluesky, Doodle, Nonnie, Scaredy-cat, ChrissyR.
Still bit low today. Need to have a good think about what I can do to help the situation.
My heart is telling me one thing and my head another.
Again thank you my friends.
Annie how are you?

BlueSky Fri 30-Oct-20 17:30:33

Evening all x Well The GP phoned about my ultrasound and I’m really surprised to be told they’ve seen gall stones! I never expected that, was thinking of a problem with my stomach like an ulcer or gastritis, but I might have that as well as I don’t think they can see ulcers with just an ultrasound. So now referred to a gastroenterologist, goodness knows when that will be with this virus. Dentist for me too and finally finished, not too keen to be pinned down wouldn’t like to have long sessions. Again it’s only a recent problem.
No Annie? Hope you are all right x
Nonnie your brother so young too, such grief x
Booked the opticians too, a good MOT that’s for sure.
Have a peaceful night x brew

Doodle Fri 30-Oct-20 18:04:57

Nonnie sorry about your brother dying at such a young age, that must have been so sad for all of you,
A chat with a friend or neighbour is sometimes all it takes to cheer us up ? Ahh the excitement in your life is too much. An MOT wow ?. Why are you knitting a sweater for someone you don’t know, is it a request from a friend?
How lovely to see your little grandson. They are so cute at that age.
Chrissy DH is fine thanks for asking.
You are doing the right thing getting your painting kit organised. I love sewing and quilting but sometimes I feel like I can’t be bothered. Once I get stuck into it I enjoy it.
scaredycat try going to the edges of town without going too far in (if that’s possible). It’s what DH and I do. Not necessarily go in the shops but look in the windows and try and get used to being there.
Sorry to hear you have had some sad news. Hope you are ok.
flutterby it is something we keep repeating on here but it is true, It will pass. The problem will be resolved and you will move on. It’s the bit in between which is upsetting. Hope all comes good soon.
Bluesky that’s a shock but at least something that can account for the problems you’ve been having. Hope you get to see the consultant soon or they may do a phone appointment.
Annie like the others, I too hope you are ok.

Please take care all. x

Anniebach Fri 30-Oct-20 18:37:04

Hi all x

Will catch up with you all, I am ok, just very sad.

BlueSky I had gall stones quite some time ago, will try to recall what foods I found which caused upsets.

Scaredcat so sorry you have had bad news, would like to give
you a cwtch x

flutterby my love all things pass, hold on x

BlueSky Fri 30-Oct-20 19:39:49

Annie so sorry you are very sad, come back when you are ready we miss you x

lavenderzen Fri 30-Oct-20 19:50:06

Just lost a long post!!
Hello everyone.
Bluesky I am glad you have your results, although not quite what you expected. I had problems with gall stones years ago, pain under the shoulder blade which was excrutiating, cream and similar used to make it worse. Hope your appointment comes through soon.
Scaredycat sorry you had had sad news. Stay strong.
Flutterby you are struggling with problems, think them through, no hasty decisions, you will get there and it will pass.
Have a peaceful evening all, and a good nights sleep. Love to all including those I have missed xx

lavenderzen Fri 30-Oct-20 19:51:53

Dearest Annie
This is a difficult time for you. We are all here for you when you are ready and are by your side getting you through this.
Sending love and prayers xx

Doodle Fri 30-Oct-20 20:36:34

Annie so sorry to hear you are very sad. I hope you will be ok. Wish I could give you a hug and a hand hold. I will do it virtually. Please take care, we are all here. xx ?

ChrissyR Fri 30-Oct-20 20:53:44

Evening everyone
Scaredycat I’m so sorry that you’ve had some sad news. Weather bad here as well, we seem to be in a period of relentless rain. No point in going to busy places if it makes you feel uncomfortable. We have only been venturing into town on a few occasions due to being so sick of being indoors. It’s really hard to know what to do for the best.
BlueSky I’m glad that you heard from your GP and hope that it’s not too long a wait to see the gastroenterologist. I hope that, if there is another problem as well, it gets sorted soon.
Flutterby I’m sorry that you’re feeling low. I hope that whatever the issue is gets sorted out soon.
Nonnie How young your brother was when he died, that must have been extremely hard to come to terms with.
Doodle Still haven’t actually done any diamond painting but I keep looking at it. It’s so ridiculous that I can’t just stop looking and start doing.
lavenderzen Hope you’re ok.
Annie I’m sorry that you’re feeling sad and hope you’re back soon.
Have a good evening everyone and sleep well x

Scaredycat Fri 30-Oct-20 21:21:35

Annie so sorry you are feeling so sad. Life is very cruel sometimes.A cwtch would be lovely right now .(I had to look up what it was!! A beautiful word). The sad news concerned one of my lovely Grandaughters - she is a very brave young woman .
Hope you will feel brighter soon Annie. Xx
Doodle and Chrissy thanks for your kind words.
Goodnight everybody and hope you all sleep well.xxx
