I thought I had outgrown colds, but then the dgc started to come along, and as soon as I started looking after them I started catching regular colds again!!!

Not since retiring and this year should be even better! (Touch wood!)

I usually have at least two chest infections after Christmas, I've had none.
It must be down to the fact I've rarely been out in public.

Kate1949 Tue 06-Oct-20 11:57:08

Quite a few of us who don't get them then. I had one after the other as a child, so maybe I'm immune! I bet I'll get one now!

FlexibleFriend Tue 06-Oct-20 11:38:57

I've never had a cold.

Yes, just a slight one which DH then caught.
The only place I have been is to hospital! (Out patient).

I get a couple of colds a year, probably because I've always worked with patients (been a hospital ward receptionist, now a healthcare worker on a ward).

I had one a few weeks ago, felt really rough for a couple of weeks. My employers insisted I have a Covid test, which was negative.

I can believe that Kate1949 as I rarely get them either, and I've never had flu either. Perhaps I shouldn't have written that - fingers crossed!

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 06-Oct-20 11:26:10

Yes, i've had slight symptoms of a cold, because I have lung problems I contacted the doc I have to have a Covid test before they can see me.. Yesterday I used a home kit and was very wobbly doing it yesterday at 7 am!! So it will probably come back 'inconclusive' and I shall have to self isolate for a further week, by which time I will either be better or have died of Covid!!

Kate1949 Tue 06-Oct-20 11:20:54

It must be 30 years since I had a cold. No one believes me but it's true.

Nana3 Tue 06-Oct-20 11:18:21

I've had a cold, it started 2 weeks ago. I have no idea how / where I got it..
I went for a covid test which thankfully was negative.

Grandchildren are beginning to get colds at school, thank goodness for that, as they need to build up their immunity. But inevitably they will give us one at some point! grin

I can’t remember when I last had a cold I rarely get them. I put it down to always washing my hands upon returning home even pre-Covid and taking Vit C every day during Winter. As more people are doing this it makes sense that there will be less transmission of common illnesses.

Around 12 years! Which considering my body is failing in so many different other ways is quite amazing really!

I put it down to my sleeping arrangements, which are a bit weird - as I am now unable to get comfortable in a bed I have slept in a riser recliner in my kitchen for about 10 years now, and unless it really is bitterly cold outside I have the door open!

I relate it to those sanatoriums they had for TB sufferers where they brought the beds out on to the verandahs - works for me!

It occurred to me that I can’t remember the last time I had a cold or anything catching.

I guess it is down to social distancing etc.

Has anyone else had a cold if late?
