Happy Easter to all TBG... ?? have a good weekend x
Happy Easter all.
Bright sunny day so going out to make the most of it. Just had a photo of youngest GS on a beach with a spade, dressed up for Artic weather and wearing the biggest grin.
Hi all x Happy Easter Day
How is everyone ?
I hope you all have a nice Easter weekend. Painted a few garden ornaments today with cream masonry paint. They look nice and fresh. It was a beautiful warm sunny day so I made the most of it in the garden. Even my OH managed a wee walk round garden on his zimmer. Going to be colder tomorrow.
Hi everyone
Doodle- glad you,re seeing your sons this weekend. Hope you enjoy lovely family times. May that GS hug be the first of many for you this Summer. Won’t it be lovely to be by the sea again - needs to be a bit warmer then we will hopefully have some days out again. Hope you do too.
Nonnie - yes it’s really cold again today but we wrapped up and went out. Didn’t feel so tired today. Lovely that your family are able to relax this weekend it will do them good.
Bluesky- good to hear from you. Hope you enjoyed your walk.
Annie- hope you are ok this weekend.
Wishing all the BDG a Happy Easter x
Nonnie thanks for the advice. I will wrap up as it is colder than it looks.
Nice for your DS to have a little holiday. I would love to visit the sea. Not yet though.
Bluesky it is quite cold isn’t it.
Thank you for your Easter wishes and mine to you too. Hope you are keeping well.
Annie have you had any visitors today?
Have a good weekend all x
Morning all x Disappointingly bitter cold wind today after the warm sunshine of the last few days. Nothing much going on even if some restrictions have been eased, so it’s just our usual afternoon walk but we are able to diversify. Grateful for small mercies I guess! Just popped in to say hope you are all OK and wishing you a peaceful Easter weekend. x ??
Annie we inherited an olive tree with the house. Its in a big pot and is quite tall but not very bushy, any suggestions?
Scardycat the anxiety about the vaccination will fade, just give it time.
Doodle have to wrap up warm for that garden visit, just been out and it is really cold today.
Glad your eyes have improved, hope sitting in a garden doesn't affect them negatively.
DS and family booked a last minute 4 day break and are off having fun. Its allowed in their country as long as they don't go abroad. So happy for them, just wish we could join them. Planning to have a not birthday party when they finally get to come here. The GS can shop for it and help me make cakes.
Hello all. Happy Easter.
I have been watching the service from Canterbury Cathedral today. The Dean is doing 3 hours from 12 to 3 recorded. I have watched the first half but now need a coffee break to stop me falling asleep in the second half.?.
One segment was pre recorded in his garden at night by a burning brazier. It is beautiful. Completely dark and his face only lit by the light of the fire. So atmospheric.
Been to see our DS today with chocolates and sat in their garden for a while. Going to see other son for a garden visit tomorrow.
Annie my DGS said he so wanted to give me a hug. After over 12 months of no contact I couldn’t resist. Wonderful ?
Are you having any visitors over this weekend?
Nonnie thank you, my eyes are a bit better tonight. I have rubbed some vaseline round them as the skin under my eyes gets so sore when they are constantly wet. Hope you have a good bank holiday weekend.
scaredycat I too am no gardener. Lucky we live in a flat now and can appreciate the communal garden without having to do any of the work.
I do have allergies to grass and pollen but that is usually in the summer. At this time of year it is tree pollen. As soon as the trees start budding so my eyes start playing up.
Pleased to hear you have had your second jab. That should boost your confidence.
Wishing all the members of the BDG past, present and just reading a Happy Easter ? Take care all x
Good afternoon all
Nonnie- how lovely that you had such an outpouring of love for your son.
I,m the worlds worst gardener- my Mum had and my Sister has green fingers- not me. Home grown blueberries must taste so much nicer .
Doodle - hope you eyes are more comfortable today or is that now something that will plague you all Summer. Is it Grass pollen or all pollen?
Annie - glad your Grandaughter is settled in now. She will love showing you her new garden and thanks to Granny’s advice now has £90 to spend on plants!!
We have a nut tree that appeared one year having planted itself. Good job I didn’t plant it or it would have not survived!!
Easter weekend is going to be a challenge as it is so cold. Hope to see my DD while the men are out playing Golf.
Had my 2nd jab yesterday - so tired today and feel anxious about nothing in particular. I guess it’s just a side effect. Even too tired to go out for a walk. ?
Love to allX
nonnie I am no expert, just love gardening. I only advise if asked and Olive Trees in the north is a no no, if a shrub she can find out herself but £90 !
Doodle hope your eyes get better soon.
Annie I am * years old and still not much idea of gardening
. Just hack it back and see what happens, when it fails go to the RHS website to see what I did wrong. No blueberries last year because of my bad pruning.
Please only give her a couple of bits of advice at a time, one of my 'expert' friends drowns me with it each time and it goes in one ear and out the other
Happy Easter all, whatever you are doing
Hi all x
What plans for Easter weekend ?
Annie ? that’s lovely. I’m sure your advice will be much sought after in their new home ?
Doodle elder granddaughter in her new home, her partner had to return to work Tuesday, day after they moved, she is use to working full time , is off work until 9th , no internet, so ?
FaceTime granny .
Try explaining to a 24 year old with no idea of gardening that
2 olive trees facing north is a waste of £45 a tree ! degree in law
but not the foggiest of the compass ?
Nonnie how lovely so many have responded to your photos.
Nice to know so many cared.
My eyes are sore due to the pollen. Really red and painful., early night for me I think.
Annie how has your day been?
Hi all x
True nonnie It’s good you had so much love back when you posted the photograph x Love lives on x
Annie that is so lovely. There really are wonderful people in the world, sometimes we look for them and sometimes they look for us.
I 'shared a memory' on Facebook yesterday, photo of us with our dear dead son and on of his children. This morning so many people have 'liked' or commented, some I have never even heard of. So many of his friends have made contact with us and kept in contact, we were even invited to join the Fb page for his old school. Not crying today, just understanding how loved he was by so many.
polomint I am a chocolate glutton. One piece is never enough. My favourite is fruit and nut. I could eat a huge bar all in one sitting. ?
I’m so pleased things were a bit more positive for your DH after talking to the physio. Good job he’s making progress.
Nonnie ooh poor you. You need a nice soak to ease those aching muscles. You have been working hard today. Nice to catch up with your neighbour.
Annie how delightful. You must have been so touched to hear from someone not only that you helped but that Catherine helped too. How lovely she now wants to do something in return. ?
Scaredycat hope you enjoyed your walk. We found it really warm today. Not as sunny as yesterday but mild and comfortable. Hopefully a good night’s sleep for all of us x
Afternoon all
Polomint - great news re your DH physio - it must have given you both such hope for the future.
Nonnie - You have worked hard - good you are not aching. This morning My DH has been pressure washing the drive to within an inch of its life. I have followed behind cleaning windows door and woodwork that is the inevitable collateral damage of a pressure washer. It’s this lovely weather makes you want to do stuff outside.
Fancy your neighbour seeing old people they must be getting everywhere!!!!
Annie - what a wonderful tribute to your dear daughter. What a special person she was to care so much for other people when she was so troubled herself. I think she would be very happy that you will be getting help from her friend. The lady herself sounds very kind- so pleased for youx
It’s time for a walk now We,ll be worn out this evening but should help with getting us to sleep, take care all BDG XXX
Hi all x
nonnie how nice to meet your neighbour after such a long time.
polomint good news about your husband’s progress.
Must share with you all, I have a lovely support worker who calls Monday to Friday, needed some help Saturday and Sunday. Asked locally, someone called yesterday, she wants to help but no payment, years ago when she took her first job I was doing the books for her employers, she said she was so shy and I gave her confidence, then she said - I want to give something back for all Catherine did for me, (my darling daughter), when my first baby died Catherine supported me , was so caring and kept caring after others had stopped.
I was so moved
Polomint
Today I'm surprised that my muscles don't hurt from extreme hard brushing the drive. DH had treated the moss so I was doing my best to sweep it out of the tarmac before he pressure washes it again. Garden furniture cleaned so back garden weeding today.
Went out for a short walk and met a neighbour I haven't seen for a year so didn't get very far. He had been to the vaccination centre the same day as us and totally agreed about all the old people!
Sorry nonnie I won't mention chocolate again. Sorry I won't mention chocolate again. Sorry..... only teasing. Thankfully I can ration chocolate nowadays although in days past, I used to eat it all at once. Its got to be dark chocolate for me
So glad annie things are looking good for you and its nice for your granddaughter to ask your opinion on things. Makes us feel a wee bit useful at least
doodle hope all is well with you
Physio wad really pleased with my husbands progress which has given us both a boost and there might well be light at the end of the tunnel now, it's been such a long tunnell
Annie I am sure pets are a great help for those suffering stress or depression. The fact that their love is unconditional and non judgmental helps us all. Plus the act of stroking an animal is said to produce calming thoughts. I’m sure yours are a big comfort.
Don’t think the lockdown easing is having much of an impact on us yet. We don’t plan anything much and are waiting for our second jab before having thoughts about meeting anyone.
Nonnie how on Earth do you have physio on the phone?
Thanks I will go back to the GP when we can start making appointments again. I have seen those little cycling things advertised before. I am sure Amazon sell them.
Good to hear your car passed it’s MOT. I cleaned our balcony furniture yesterday so today we have been able to sit in the sunshine.
Take care all the gang x
Afternoon all
Annie- Monday was a lovely family day for you. I do hope your GD and her partner will be very happy in their new home. Wouldn’t it be lovely if you could visit her there or they come over to you.
I really hope you have been able to go outside with Alfie today. The weather is lovely here today so hope it is for you too.
Would it help if you could have blackout blinds or curtains in your bedroom?
Glad you will be getting support for your agoraphobia. How do you manage with your little dogs going outside?
Take carexxxx
Nonnie - lovely day for you to work in the garden. I just love being able to hang out the washing again.
Glad your car passed it’s MOT - it’s always a relief isn’t it. I,ve been out in mine today and it felt so good to be driving again.
Doodle,Polomint,Joce and all in BDG hope you are all enjoying sunshine today. XXX
