Joce sorry you’ve not been quite with it today. I feel like that sometimes too. DH calls it being discombobulated. Hope your stomach has settled down now.
Hope your little one has a happy birthday tomorrow. Nice you can be with her.
Nonnie hope you’re ok and things go well with DH. I have been waiting for news so many times. It’s not easy,
Bluesky we all have the same worries when someone has to have an op. Do you know when your DH will be having his yet?
Annie how nice your DGC have pet names for you. It’s nice they feel like that.
Annie I wish they would listen to you too. You know what you need. Hope the appointments go well.
Is it too much to Hope the Distirct Nurse will have some helpful input do you think.
Scaredycat I am ok. A little bit jittery but trying not to get uptight, I always worry when I don’t hear from my son for a while. Just hoping they’re all ok.
How are you, been for a walk today?
Take care all x

Scaredycat Wed 12-May-21 13:53:57

Nonnie - thinking of you today. Do hope everything goes well. Good idea to keep busy but don’t forget to take time to rest and see after yourself.
Joce - I hope your GD has a lovely happy Birthday today and that your horrible spaced out feeling has gone away.
Bluesky - hope your husband doesn’t have to wait too long for his Op. good that his pain is under control
Annie - Seems to me that all these people who come to see you do an awful lot of talking but not much listening. If only just one of them could see what we can all see that you need help that is practical, possible and will enable you to live your life more safely, easily ,comfortably and enjoyably. I hope today is a better day.X
Doodle - hope you,re ok today.
Love to all in BDG

Joce345 Wed 12-May-21 11:54:09

Annie dear me, something else I really don’t know how you stay so positive.. I would have to say this is what I need, not what you think I need some of the (professional) have not got a clue..
hope today’s a good day for us all!!!

Anniebach Wed 12-May-21 09:56:53

BlueSky hope your husband hears soon , sciatica is so painful.

Well friends, just had telephone call, another appointment coming up, this time from the district nurses dept, they are
visiting people of a certain age ! ! ! !

BlueSky Wed 12-May-21 09:49:21

Morning Annie yes sciatica he had a serious bout last year and was ready to go for op when we went in lockdown again and everything stopped. Luckily his pain is now manageable but he knows it’s only matter of time and he would want it resolved. Thanks for asking. Hope all your appointments will eventually solve your problems. I’m fine thanks x
Have a pleasant day all x brew

Anniebach Wed 12-May-21 09:42:41

Hi all x

nonnie thinking of you and your husband x

BlueSky sciatica? your poor husband, such pain, are you ok ?x

Joyce happy birthday to your 5 year old , I loved the times when my grandchildren were small, now they are adults, enjoy
the birthday x

Scardeycat so relieved you are getting support from your family

Doodle little granny ? I miss being called granny, mini tornado has called me Bro since she has been 7, elder granddaughter calls me Queen Babe !, grandson does say Gran.

3 appointments today, have hope the occupational therapist can help. Why oh why do these people not ask ‘what do you
need ? No, they tell me what they think I need , no two way discussion . The therapist today will be my 10th appointment this week, ?

Joce345 Wed 12-May-21 09:26:24

Nonnie my thoughts and prayers are with you today x

BlueSky Wed 12-May-21 09:18:05

Morning all x
Nonnie just to say I’ll be thinking if you, this is on my mind about my own DH when eventuality he’ll be called for his sciatica op. All the best xx

Nonnie Wed 12-May-21 08:19:47

Dropped DH at 0730 and now just have to wait. Hoping they can do a spinal block but previous surgery means he may need an anaesthetic, waiting to hear. Planning to keep very busy today while I wait to hear from him.

Joce345 Tue 11-May-21 21:16:37

Annie it’s never ending for you no wonder you don’t sleep, what is it with them, can’t they see what’s in front of there eyes you need some help and consideration, how long is it going to go on for you...

Today I have felt very spaced out, stomach churning till lunchtime then it’s passed. But the spaced out feeling continues

My youngest GD is 5 tomorrow this year we will be able to share her day with her...

Have a good night sleep all ?

Doodle Tue 11-May-21 20:32:09

Nonnie good to hear your DH is having some good care now. Nice of your son and DIL to want you to stay. Good to have neighbours you can rely on too. When is your DHs op, do you know yet?
Joce so many DGC will keep you busy. With them all being quite small I bet you have fun playing with them. I miss playing with mine now they’re older. It’s nice to see them growing up but we did have such fun when they were little.
Scaredycat I’m glad your DD and DH have been supportive. It makes such a difference to have someone you can talk to.
What fun to have DGC and GGC of a variety of ages. How on earth do you keep track of all those birthdays ?
Annie sounds as though things are full on again for you.
Sorry you didn’t sleep well. Your mind must have been ruminating on the days goings on.
I cannot understand why the occupational therapy don’t get the fact that you can’t walk about. I hope you get some proper help soon. Take care x

Anniebach Tue 11-May-21 17:24:20

Hi all x

I am late posting today.

So many appointments yesterday, I couldn’t mentally switch off so not a good nights sleep, made up for it this afternoon!
3 more appointments tomorrow, the occupational therapist has to assess if I need a wheelchair to go into the garden, no
matter I can’t walk , what is it with councils,

nonnie it’s good your husband is having such aftercare. My
three grandchildren live 50 miles from me , I still find it
strange , until just over three years ago they lived 15 minute walk away, had done since birth.

Scaredycat how are you today ? sending you a hug x

Scaredycat Tue 11-May-21 17:12:51

Doodle- I feel better than I did thank you for asking. I had a long chat with my DD and she really helped me as has my DH. I will postpone phoning the Doctor for the moment and just see how I go. HA just takes hold sometimes and becomes all consuming as does any Anxiety sometimes.
I like it that you are little granny!!
Nonnie- I,m glad that your DH is getting the care he deserves and that things are in place for when he comes home after the Op. Glad too that you have such kind family and friends.
Yes it is a lot of GC ranging from 34-11 GGC are 8,6 and 4. So far no they don’t treat me any differently although are all very kind and I love them dearly.
Joce-Thank you for your kind wishes. Happy for you your GC are near and hope you can see your eldest soon.

Today I have been very lucky and had a morning with my eldest GD while the children are at school. We had a walk and a coffee and my daughter joined us having a break from work,it was lovely. Weather warm too!! Counting blessings today.
Sending love to you all.x

Joce345 Tue 11-May-21 11:05:29

It’s warm hear have a good day all..?

Nonnie Tue 11-May-21 10:01:46

Doodle Wish our gc lived near us.

'Common sense'? Not a lot of it about. In our case the NHS has been seriously lacking in it but not recently thank God. DH has been getting serious pre-op care for his new knee and I hope it is not just because it has been outsourced to a private hospital. We now have devices round the loos so he will be able to get off them and he has pee bottles too. DS & DiL have asked me if I would like to stay with them while DH is in hospital and neighbours have offered help as well. I am very blessed.

Scardycat are you feeling better now?

That's a lot of gc! Do they treat you as if you are the child yet? grin One DS definitely think we need 'looking after' except when he needs advice or when he needs someone to house sit for him!!

It was very windy here too yesterday but not the biting wind we have had recently.

Doodle Mon 10-May-21 22:43:12

Scaredycat sorry you haven’t been feeling well. Are you feeling any better now? I hope so.
All my DGC are well into their teens now. All taller than me and two are having driving lessons. I’m little granny ?

Scaredycat Mon 10-May-21 16:35:34

Hello everyone I haven’t posted for a couple of days as I didn’t feel well which brought on a Health Anxiety wobble - sometimes it just gets the better of me?
I,ve just read all the posts - seems like you,ve all been busy and out and about.
Annie - I hope you have managed to get a wheelchair tray from Amazon - it is incredible that almost anything you look up they have! Brilliant that you could sit outside for a while - you,d get blown away here today if you tried that!!
Nonnie- what a good day you have had today. I think that the more “normal” things we do the more we will want to do. I certainly find myself thinking more about what things we can do now . I,m impressed with your run for the bus!!
Doodle- lovely to have your GC live nearby - how old are they? Between us we have 1O GC but only 2 who live nearby but lucky to have 2 out of 3 GGC as well.
We do get shorter as we get older - which is a pain as shoes with heels are like torture now!
Joce Bluesky,EllieAnne and those I have left out I hope you have a nice evening xx

Doodle Mon 10-May-21 13:02:19

Nonnie good for you catching the bus home. Hopefully from that you will gain some confidence.

Doodle Mon 10-May-21 13:01:26

Joce wow you have a brood. Lovely. We have 3, 2 girls and a boy. They live close by which is lucky for us, I bet you can’t wait to see all of yours.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your sewing, I’m still turning up hems on things, I never used to be so short, ?
Nonnie I agree with your comments to Annie . So many times you just think why doesn’t someone have some common sense. I suppose they all have rules and departmental procedures that have to be obeyed but on occasions you wish they’d just get in with it.
Hope you’re ok today Annie and have your helper in.

Nonnie Mon 10-May-21 12:25:51

Annie bureaucracy is a pain, why do the simple thing when the buck can be passed from department to department Grrrrr.

Joce & Doodle we are very blessed to have such good family relationships when we hear of so many broken ones.

Been into town this morning to get my new hearing aids fitted. Did some shopping too and it almost felt normal. It only rained when I was in the enclosed shopping centre and has now started just after I got home.

Big thing - I caught the bus home!!!! Had to run for it so didn't have time to think about it too much but I did it.

Joce345 Sun 09-May-21 21:39:42

Doodle I have 2 little men now and 4 little woman ?but sadly not seen the oldest for over 12 months now only on face time.. hopefully we will be able to make up for it soon, I can’t wait I miss her so much... what about you do you have many?
I’ve been in my sewing room just making shorts and cut some new covers for machines...got to look after them..
We have not had any rain yet but been overcast this afternoon still nice.

Doodle Sun 09-May-21 19:40:09

Joce we’ve had a sunny day too. Been for a walk and then just made it back before the heavens opened and we had torrential rain for about 5 minutes. It seems to have stopped now but I pity anyone caught out in it.
How many little men do you have? Always a joy to see young ones. ?

Joce345 Sun 09-May-21 14:26:23

Hope the sun is shining for you all today.. we have had a lovely sunny morning few dark clouds coming over now..
I have a lovely DILs and two good SILs I feel blessed.
Seen one of my little men this morning always brightens my day..
Annie hope you find tray for your chair soon...
have a good day all ?

Doodle Sun 09-May-21 14:05:43

Annie I’ve just looked in Amazon. They seem to have a number of different wheelchair trays. Have you tried looking on their website?
