I drink 5 nights a week, about a third of a bottle of red wine. I really enjoy it but know it is too much.

I am going to try dry January because I need to kick start my weight loss campaign - again!

No, I'm not really a big drinker, especially in the winter.

A nice cider in the back yard in the sun during other seasons, and if someone comes to visit, but otherwise I can go during the work week without a drink.

Yes definitely a dry January for me. I'm not a regular drinker anyway, but the dreaded pandemic had me having a couple here and there. It doesn't agree with me, and even small amounts have side effects.
Must lose some weight also, but I appear to be comfort eating to fill the gap if my now non existent social life.
So it will be a nice cup of tea and a healthier lifestyle to start off the new year. Keep smiling ?

I'll be dry.

Went right off alcohol when pregnant with my son. 28 years ago.

I used to drink like a fish but have hardly touched a drop for years

Not quite. My usual weekly routine is perhaps one glass of wine and/or a couple of gins but the couple of weeks upto and including Christmas day it's become a daily tipple or two. So I'm staying dry til New Years Eve then see how we go. Changed days. I dont like having after effects now. I never used to in days gone bye. hmm

No. Apart from the fact I don’t drink much anyway, maybe a bottle of wine a month, why make life any more miserable than it already is, having had the joy sucked out of it by Covid.

A no from me too. I need a drink to keep me sane while covid is still with us!

I usually do dry January and for the last couple of years have done 100 days. It definitely improves my energy levels.

A couple of years back I did a dry January and I was thoroughly miserable, even though I followed the rules.

I was reading advice in the paper yesterday about the benefits of a dry January, such as better sleep, but I didn’t experience this.

I am not a big drinker and have more days off than on and keep within the limits for women.

Spag Bol without a glass of red wine just doesn’t cut it for me.

Are you giving up ?
