COVID and diabetes

Thank you for this post and I hope your husband continues to recover. My brother had diabetes and doesn't always understand the risks.

Glad he is on the mend ayse.
Why not remove all the forbidden stuff from the house and stay up with him in the evening.
Often people need a push to get them onto a healthy diet but once established it is easier to follow.

I believe that diabetics are not at any greater risk than non diabetics as long as they do everything they can to control their diabetes. Glad to hear your son is on the mend ayse: a timely warning. And can I remind everyone to get an oximeter and thermometer, too. Also on DrJohns blog he said that older people are probably suffering from a fever at a lower level than younger people. From memory I think he said that 37.4 is regarded as a fever temperature in older people whereas in younger people it would be 37.8.

Glad your DH is on the mend it’s must have been a very worrying time. My husband has type 2 but does follow a strict diet. He is relieved to be going for his vaccine this Sunday.

My DH is so blasé about his diet and I do the best I can but he takes plenty of no notice. All the time I’m up and about I make sure he has a wise diabetic diet. It’s after I’ve gone to bed or when he is out and about without me.

I’d love to go to bed later but I’m a lark and he’s an owl. It works well as I get lots of sleep before he goes to bed. He snores very loudly and is a huge fidget because of his bad back so I need to sleep whilst he is still up. Sometimes he doesn’t go to bed until 3.00 or 4.00 am after napping on and off. I like the mornings as it is quiet and I can get on with my stuff. Later in the day I’m not so disposed to do stuff as he potters and drives me nuts going backward and forward.
