Health Questions re vaccination

Whenever I go anywhere where I might be asked about current medication, etc. I always take with me one of repeat prescriptions sheets. This gives - along with all meds - GP surgery address, your own name and DoB and NHS no.

mrswoo re surplus vaccine. Wow, yes, that would be fantastic.

It was looking quite shambolic regarding the vaccine at home - the surgery couldn't give me much information and DH was getting jumpy about it (he's already behind when he could / should have had it).
He is currently feeling well enough to drive (today he had a little test drive a la Cummings). There are also more hubs available now, so he's going to a smaller local one (a church).

i was asked all of the above, plus whether i had taken part in any covid-vaccine trials, or had had any vaccinations at all in the last 7 days.
also whether i wanted to have the covid vaccine.
my brother, different location, was asked whether he was there of his own free will, and that it was his own choice to have the vaccine.

I had mine yesterday at a Nightingale hospital in the NE. As others have said your DH will be asked about allergies, blood thinning meds and general health. I found the whole process very friendly, calm, well-managed and reassuring. I had the Astra zenica vaccine and was advised to wait for 5 minutes afterward.
There was a woman in front of me who was accompanying her husband but not having the jab herself. I'm sure it would be fine for you to go in with your DH.
Also, if it's getting near the end of the day it may be worth you asking if you can get your jab done too as they may have surplus vaccine which needs to be used.

Guess you are asked fewer questions if done at the GP as they can access your records? I was just asked if I felt well, about any allergies or unusual reactions and if I drove myself to the appointment.

BlueBelle I checked last night, after jab at 15:30, information was on my NHS app and patient access.

I didn’t get a card as they had run out my friend and husband when they went one got a card one didn’t, my other friend didn’t get one either I rang up afterwards and they said don’t worry it’s all on your records but I hope I get one after my second jab although they are not that important my daughter only had a first name on no surname or addressing, it could have anyone’s she went to the local hospital I went to the surgery

I had the Oxford/Astrazenica on the 4th. Was asked:
Did I have any allergies
Did I take blood thinners
Was I well
Did I drive myself or not. My daughter drove me so said no and could leave straight away. If I had driven myself I would have had to wait 15 minutes before leaving .

At each stage of contact with someone I was asked my date of birth. I was given a card which had my name and the date on and the name of the vaccine I had been given. Told I would. be contacted about the date for second jab and to keep card safe and take it with me .

Had nausea first day and a sore red arm for two days 16 days later

I went to my surgery I was just asked if I was well and if I had any allergies ...I presume all the rest was on my record
If you have Pfizer you sit for 15 minutes afterwards if you have the Oxford it seems you don’t I was in and out in literally 4 minutes

They asked me if I'd had covid. I said no, but in Dec 2019 I had something nasty that left me with no smell or taste ( still have none)
The lady sitting next to the vaccinator wrote that information on a separate sheet.

I had mine yesterday, no side effects whatsoever and my arm feels fine, I wonder did it make a difference cos a dishy Dr did it ?

At our GP run hub we were simply asked for name and if we had any covid symptoms or allergies. They were prepared with a list of those expected with all other details printed from GP records. Good idea for your husband to take a card with all the information on, just in case. You’ll both have peace of mind then.

Just one tip. Write down his name,DOB, postcode and Doctors surgery on a card or piece of paper. He can show this when being asked details.
I found it difficult to be precise giving my details with a mask on. This was at a vaccination centre and was quite busy. So noise levels could be highly that the doctor surgery.

Didn’t ask me anything, done at local GP hub, so my info was on screen.

An elderly couple living in a Queensland retirement village have each just been given a 7 times the normal shot!
Stand by for any untoward developments!

Perhaps it's different if you go to a hub rather than your GP practice.

Same as above. Asked whether we had any allergies and whether we were on blood thinners. I'd taken a list of my meds with me, just in case. I also told the nurse I had a needle phobia. ? She said that it would be very quick, I shouldn't be worried and I (probably) wouldn't feel a thing!

It was very quick and apart from very slight pressure, I didn't feel anything. The needle and syringe were also very much smaller than the ones you see ad nauseum on the television. There were four of us in our room and the nurse brought the pre loaded syringes in on a tray, so there was no faffing around filling the syringes.

I had the AZ vaccine and we just had to wait 10 mins before we could leave. My husband had the Pfizer one at the same GP practice a couple of weeks earlier and he had to wait 15 mins. DH had slightly sore heavy arm for 24 hours but I didn't have any after effects at all. However, I am immunocompromised, so maybe I didn't get the full benefit from it.

I would contact the surgery or centre, explain, and ask either if you can accompany (allowed in some circumstances), answer over the phone beforehand; or ask then write down for DH

They took our temperatures as we entered the building and apart from checking our personal details all they asked us was what medication we take. Because DH is on blood thinners they asked him to wait 15 minutes before leaving the building.

Ah, it was the medication thing that I was thinking of. I'll have to write it all down then.

As well as the allergy question, she asked if we were taking any medication and the details. Mr.M was there for his too.

She went over all personal details. Address, doctor, dob. This was done as we arrived at the centre as well.
