My DD has suggested I try Kegel balls as I am constantly going to the loo at night and don’t get much satisfaction from sex. I think I am to old at 76, but she says no. Has anyone had experience of these balls and do they work?

I have always done the Kegel exercises and they have been very successful. DH used to applaud my muscle tone grin

Thanks for making me ?

I’ve had them but think the weight pulled things further down.

There is a Keggle machine that you put up your flue and you can play games like flying helicopters by doing the strengthening exercises. I’m quite interested. But it’s over £100!

It’s not a man’s invention it’s a health support for women with weakened pelvic floor muscles.

Sorry but I had to laugh. Kegel is bowling in Germany and Kegel balls are the very large and heavy bowls.
My imagination is running wild. Eeeek!

My first thought too.

Good grief no nothing goes up there it would disturb the cobwebs ???

Mostly in the UK we call them pelvic floor exercises.
Needing to empty your bladder at night as you get older is a function of many changes, and not just because of a poor pelvic floor. But we should all do pelvic floor exercises in some form or another.
You can simply look up how to do them, without any 'aids'.
You can use weights / balls or similar.
A specialist physio can show you how to use a device that you can connect to your smartphone so that you can see how the 'squeezing' is going.
Whatever suits you best - but I would warn that if you are not used to doing the exercises (I have done them daily since I was 20) then you don't always get them quite right - that is when a session with a physio can help.

Jaxjacky Fri 09-Apr-21 12:58:48

I do pelvic floor exercises.

yggdrasil Fri 09-Apr-21 12:21:28

I've tried them, but I can't keep the damn things in :-)

Esspee Fri 09-Apr-21 10:19:40

I don’t know them but do you do Kegel exercises? I have always made a point of doing them regularly. Easy to google but you must do them often to build up muscle strength.
