Hay Fever

I'd never ever had hay fever in my life until latterly when my nose has just been streaming and my eyes feel bunged up. It's as soon as certain trees come into leaf and I know one of them is the Rowan as we have one nearby.
I love the smell of the blossom when it comes out but the whole feeling of hay-fever is quite debilitating.

I usually have a couple of paracetamol as I'm limited to what I can take which doesn't interact with warfarin.

Me too. I feel worse than ever this year. My usual symptoms are feeling a bit wobbly and croaky first thing in the morning and watery eyes in the evening. This year though I am wheezing and I've never done that before.

Tree pollen allergy is worse for me than grass and I'm living temporarily in an area surrounded by mature trees so that's probably why I feel more affected.

I used to be crippled by it as a child, then largely grew out of it, the pollen count has to be high to affect me. Pirinase nasal spray and Opticom eye drops fix it, and I can carry on as normal. Both available from any good chemist. Pirinase is only once a day, and more effective than the Beconase which has to be done twice a day.

One of my GSs suffered terribly so this year he decided enough was enough hes tried everything so he paid for an injection, he said its like a miracle he's had no symptoms at all despite working outside this month. He's a happy bunny, its a horrible thing to suffer with.

We have a family member that has tried everything on the market for hay fever, resorting over the last few years to having steriod injection and brilliant nothing comes close it, total life changer from feb till sept , best thing ever

I'm trying really hard to not take painkillers, but my hay fever is making me so congested, I'm getting sinus headaches. I had to give in yesterday and take paracetamol with decongestant.

That is on top of a daily antihistamine. So annoying.

It does affect the sinuses badly Gagajo

Hmm. Forgot to take my daily antihistimine before bed last night, so when I woke up at 5.30am for a wee, I took it then. No sinus headache this morning.

Maybe I was taking it at the wrong time of day? I can but hope.

I was told by my lung specialist that my tree pollen allergy had become worse (it's amazing what they can do with a blood test) but she didn't really want me to have antihistamine because of my bronchiectasis.
She said if I really needed to take one, not to have anything containing piriton.
I'm just telling you in case anyone else has lung problems as that may not be widely known.
