support, understanding and sharing of all mental health troubles.

Hi all x Doodle welcome back! It’s lovely to go away but it’s also lovely to come home, I always feel like that. You certainly had the weather, have you done cruises before? We were tempted before all this, hopefully will be able to plan a cruise again in the non too distant future.
Ellie Anne sorry you are feeling low. Also worrying about your son and family. Like Doodle said they might be able to swap their flat for a ground floor one. We never stop worrying about them, do we?
Annie hope you are all right and had some positive feedback for your problems.
Wishing you all a peaceful night brew

Doodle Mon 26-Jul-21 21:04:16

Hello BDG. How is everyone?
I had a good holiday but it’s nice to be home again.
Ellie Anne I’m not surprised you’re feeling low. Not nice of your daughter to criticise you so much. I can understand you being worried about your son and his family. A flat is not the best place to raise a child but many do so. I know of another couple who had a council flat and they managed to swap for somewhere else with a garden when their child got a bit older. Hope things look up for your son soon.
Sometimes when we get low things bring us down more. Is your daughter usually so critical? Do you have anything upbeat to look forward to? I hope things improve for you soon.
Annie I cannot believe it is beyond someone to be able to fix you up ramps inside that allow you out and allow you to shut the door. I hope your brother will push for help for you.
We enjoyed Newcastle. Weren’t allowed off the ship but it looked a lovely place. Hope you are ok x
Scaredycat I hope you haven’t been badly affected by the floods. Hope you get back to the sea soon and have another paddle.
Bluesky like you, I can’t tolerate the heat too well. I love a nice warm day with a bit of a breeze but not the overwhelming heat, it drains all the energy out of me. I haven’t been walking too well recently. My knees are creaking so I’ve decided to try and do a flight of stairs every day and see if I can build up some muscles.
Nanny I am so sorry about your cat and to hear your DH hasn’t been too well. You are certainly going through it. I hope you are feeling a bit better. Sounds as though Binks has fully adopted you now. ?
Nonnie I read you were going away for a few days. Hope you have a good break and some nice weather.
Joce I know you’re not posting much at the moment. Just wanted to say I’m thinking of you and wish you well.
Take care all and hope things improve for all those with troubles x

Ellie Anne Mon 26-Jul-21 18:54:27

I’m feeling really low again. There are reasons. My daughter was here for an overnight on her way home from a course and she criticised every thing I said or did. So instead of being happy to see her I was relieved when she left.
My youngest son partner and baby live in a second floor council flat and would love a house with a garden. Although son works full time and partner part time they can’t afford to move. It upsets me constantly that I can’t help . With being so unhappy at home. too I feel I can’t take it anymore.

Hi all x

Still no rain in Mid Wales , can it be we have had far more than
our share over the years !

I am ok, fed up yes, the thought of yet another battle for what is right, been reading up on the disability act Wales, seems I have fought so many times for what is right.

How is everyone ?

Scaredycat Sat 24-Jul-21 15:40:49

Hi!
Annie- how are you today? Sorry we pinched your rain the other day- hope you have yours back now to help cool you down. We had lots of rumbly thunder this morning with sparse rain. I hope the man your brother contacted is able to help you. I feel the same as Bluesky it seems unbelievable how difficult things are made for you . Sending a hug.
Doodle - Newcastle is such a great place hope you are enjoying it. Enjoy every last minute of your cruise.
BlueSky- you sound much happier now you are cooler!! Yes let’s hope we just have some nice gentle warm days.
Wishing you all a good weekendx

BlueSky Sat 24-Jul-21 12:19:24

Hi all x Cooler at last, I know I sound like a proper spoil sport but this is so much comfortable. Having said that I hope it’s not the end of our summer but let’s hope for sensible temperatures.
Annie you sound so fed up and you have reasons to be. I can’t believe they don’t seem to be able to help you in any way or fashion. Surely if your present accommodation is no longer suitable, you should be able to move? Make a nuisance of yourself till you achieve something!
Doodle you couldn’t have asked for better weather, hope you enjoyed it and probably will be now looking forward to be back home.
Have a pleasant afternoon x cafe

Hi all x

How is everyone ?

Anniebach Thu 22-Jul-21 17:11:28

Hi all x

I am late posting today, been sleeping ! Thank you for your kind words.

I can’t move house, the council won’t let me. My brother phoned ‘Care and Repair’ this morning, he knows the chap in charge,His firm had a contract with them for some years. He asked the office for the chap to contact him . So will see what he has to say.

nanny lovely to hear from you but so sorry to learn of your
husband and your cat. Wonderful to know BINKS is returning
the love you have given him x

Scaredycat you had rain ? why ? you don’t live in Wales, that
rain was ours ?

Scaredycat Wed 21-Jul-21 21:03:28

Hi
Annie- that is really awful , you must be enabled to get out. What kind of people install something that will not help you as you need and not tell you the problems.
I really was a bit thick re the fog!!!!
The storm was really heavy yesterday my great grandson was up to his knees in water coming out of school yesterday.
EllieAnne - it really is too hot to walk much isn’t it. Glad you like the warmth though so enjoy it while it lasts.
Nanny - so sorry you have had a bad time. I hope your husband,s health is improving. How sad about your cat I don’t know how anyone could do such a cruel thing. So glad you have Binks though and he,s returning your affection now. Thank you for your kind wishes.
Hope you all manage a comfortable sleep tonight.xx

nanny2507 Wed 21-Jul-21 20:06:05

hello all. I am so sorry that i haven't been on here for ages. My life has been absolute hell lately. Hubs has been in and out of hospital. nearly lost my job because of my disability and someone in my tiny tiny village ran over one of my cats and left him to die. on a good note BINKS ...we can kiss and cuddle him and pick him up now. he is such a beautiful boy. I hope you are all well and life has been good to you xx

Ellie Anne Wed 21-Jul-21 18:42:54

Oh Annie that is so sad. Would you consider moving to somewhere you could get .in and out? Or can someone come and take you out?
I’m one of the few who enjoy this weather though I’m not walking so much or gardening in it though.

Anniebach Wed 21-Jul-21 11:20:52

Hi all x

Am very down today. Been waiting for the council to contact me regarding ramps for back and front doors, they fitted ramps so I can get into the bungalow but not for me to get out.

My brother, who has a building firm, called yesterday, I mentioned the doors, he looked at them, ramps cannot be fitted for me to go out, if they were the doors couldn’t be closed. Why didn’t the council tell me this.

I will not be able to go out to my garden or go to Church events. Stuck indoors.

I must accept this but it’s hard

Anniebach Tue 20-Jul-21 21:37:06

BlueSky my energy levels are so low, if I could walk I wouldn’t want to in this heat. I am so hoping for rain Saturday x

Scaredycat sorry , the weather prediction for fog was my response for the blinds not being fitted for three weeks, I need them now.
You have a storm ? bliss, rain. When I was a child it was usual in
a storm for the front and back doors to be left opened, suppose
it was thought a bolt if it struck would enter one door and leave by the other door ! x

Am sure Doodle and nonnie are enjoying their break away
from home.

Scaredycat Tue 20-Jul-21 17:45:31

Hi!
Annie - you do get some weather!! At least fog isn’t hot!
The blinds sound great hope they fit them on time.
We,ve been to the sea today - it was lovely and sunny but not too hot. So nice to see people enjoying the beach but very few there. I had a paddle and the sea didn’t feel cold. Now we have a storm and the rain has battered all the plants?
Blue Sky - you are really suffering in the heat aren’t you. Maybe you,ll have a storm too and it,ll break the weather. Talking of storms my Nan used to get in the cupboard under the stairs when there was one with a hankie on her head!!
Ellie Anne- Annie is right children are all so different however they enter this world. I hope you are ok today.
Love to all in BDG

BlueSky Tue 20-Jul-21 15:32:05

Hi all x is it getting hotter or is it me? Unbearable in our living room, despite two fans going constantly, blinds closed and now in the shade too, 29.5! Never ever had these temperatures in all the years we’ve lived here.
Annie good job your window is going to be fitted with remote control blinds. Unfortunately it takes so long for anything to be done.
Waiting for cooler weather as I have no energy whatsoever.
Stay cool if you can! x ?

Anniebach Tue 20-Jul-21 11:27:37

Hi all x

A weather prediction - August in Mid Wales - fog

Had living room window measured yesterday for window blind
with remote control, I couldn’t use a pull cord, should be fitted
in three weeks.

How is everyone ?

Anniebach Mon 19-Jul-21 21:41:12

BlueSky I put the Wales news on this evening, weather warning for Mid and South Wales, excessive heat. Hotter here than rest of UK, that cheered me up - not. We must tell ourselves - this too will pass, ?. I have two fans in the living room, close to the sofa , don’t walk in the heat of the day x

Ellie Anne hope you are not blaming yourself for the difficult
birth. My two daughters, so different, one tall, dark hair, one
a five footer , blond hair, they are so different in nature too,
one arrived in 40 minutes, one in 50 minutes, so certainly not
their births.

My love , try not to be upset when your son is difficult with you , he is quite simply a difficult person , not your fault, not his if
it always been his nature. x

Scaredycat Mon 19-Jul-21 21:32:24

Evening everyone
So nice now it’s a bit cooler. I realise now that what I love is the sun but not the heat. I feel so tired after only 2 days!! Can,t believe only a few years ago we used to go walking in Canyon country in USA on our holidays. I hope you are all managing to keep cool by some means or other.
Annie - it must be unbearable without being able to open your windows - hope you have a fan to help. Can you sit in your wheelchair by the open door? It must be lovely where your Grandaughter lives - being by the sea especially being able to see it from home would be wonderful.
Blue Sky - yes an early morning walk is nice. I went with my DD yesterday but by the time we got back it was getting so hot.
Nonnie - hope you have a great time wherever you,ve gone.
Doodle- hope you had or are still having a wonderful cruise .
Does anyone else feel like I do about today as Freedom Day. I was beginning to feel a bit braver but now it feels like everything has got more precarious. Hope people will try to be sensible and considerate to one another.
Hope tonight is not too sticky - love to all

Ellie Anne Mon 19-Jul-21 20:44:27

Yes Annie he is difficult. Always has been . I have three children all completely different. I don’t know if this is rubbish or not but I have heard that people can be affected by their birth and he had a difficult birth

BlueSky Mon 19-Jul-21 19:42:28

Hi Annie not many of us on here today. I sympathise with you hopefully you have a good fan going day and night? Like you I can’t wait for the weather to go back to something sensible like 20C is lovely! Can’t walk in this unless I go out really early or late this evening. Moan over! Hope everybody is bearing up. Have a peaceful and above all cool, night. brew

Anniebach Mon 19-Jul-21 10:31:51

Hi all x

BlueSky you are not alone , it is too hot, I am so tired, I want
rain in Wales.

How is everyone?

BlueSky Sun 18-Jul-21 13:08:58

Afternoon all x Annie yes were’s our usual grey sky? I know I now sound like a moaning Minnie, if not a grumbling old biddy, but this is too hot! Not enjoyable at all!
Seems to be actually slightly cooler in the shade in the garden than indoors with fans and blinds closed. Come back cool British summer weather all is forgiven!
Hope you’ll all manage a bearable afternoon x brew
