Not happy about the postponement, last vestige of hope that we would see our family in the school holidays has gone.

Doodle have you overcome the jitters? I think you were very brave to book that cruise, I'm not yet up to being around a lot of people. Will be interesting to hear how it went and whether you felt safe.

Its good to be the one people feel they can tell their troubles too but it can be hard to cope with too.

It was good to see DS & DiL and to get the help but DS was so tired. Without going into detail his company is taking advantage of his capabilities during the pandemic when they are short staffed and he has been doing 2 extra jobs plus his OU degree. They have said he will be back to normal in the autumn. We had a roast dinner on one of the hottest days of the year! He loves a roast.

Been doing huge amounts of heavy gardening which means indoor things have been left undone but I can do those when the weather changes. Have decided to just do the accounts and then spend the afternoon on a sun lounger.

Is the heat causing a rise in feeling of anxiety for anyone?

Bluesky that’s the trouble with sympathy/empathy, you imagine yourself in the same situation. It is hard to be detached from others suffering.
I have no idea if our cruise will happen or not. I am trying not to look forward to it too much as the previous 4 times we’ve booked have been cancelled. Still it’s only a holiday and much as we would look forward to it it’s not the be all and end all of things.
Yes Annie if we do get to go I will certainly tell you when we’re near Wales and give you a wave. ?
So pleased you managed to get in your wheelchair and to see your shrubs in the garden. Wish you could be out there with them for a while.

I got in the wheelchair this morning , the lovely woman who comes in 5 mornings a week to do what I can’t, which is everything which can’t be done on the sofa , she even watered my shrubs yesterday so I went to the back door to see how they
are doing, they look lovely.

Evening all x Doodle I’m the same I get upset about friends’ sad news and I keep thinking about it (when I don’t have my own things to worry about too). Anyway I can’t help it, I can’t be ‘I’m alright Jack’.
A cruise around Britain wow that should be something! Hopefully it will go ahead. Same here I’ ve never been a great beauty, must be harder when you lose your looks!
Ellie Anne good you managed to go and see your daughter, even if it’s not always easy. As I said before my sons live overseas and I usually go on my own as DH can’t do long haul. Now when we’ll finally be able to go I’m not sure I’ll want to leave him and he’s worried about me travelling on my own! I think we’ve become joined at the hip during the pandemic!
Anne just unbelievable the way you are being treated. But why, there are no excuses now, they can’t keep blaming Covid!

Back in Scotland and it’s cold! DH has looked after himself fine but as soon as I’m back he just waits for his dinner to appear.maybe I’m a mug for doing it.
Was good to see my daughter but difficult at times. She goes to bed really early and I’m left to amuse myself. Thank goodness for Internet. She doesn’t have a tv. I read a lot of books,

Yorkshire is lovely but she doesn’t live in a scenic part but i see some lovely scenery on the journey.

Been on the phone for ages this morning. Friends with such sad worries. Quick walk after lunch when it’s cooler and then some tidying.
Certainly tidying the coffee table counts. My DH uses our sofa as a filing tray. I asked him once if he had a system. Arm for Urgent, seat for Pending, foot stool for Action ?
Sorry you haven’t had any replies. What is the matter with people. ?
Postponement of 21st means no meal out with both my sons together so have arranged them separately with a Hope we can get together later in the summer. Also we have a round Britain cruise booked in July. Not sure if that will go ahead or not.
Other than that, no much changes for us.
joce I too feel better when the cleaning is done…….I just hate doing it, ?
Scaredycat yes it would be nice to get rid of the wrinkles but now I have reached a certain age I worry a lot less about what I look like. Never been a beauty so I suppose I don’t miss it ?

How is everyone? has the postponement of 21st June for England caused you upset ?

I am not hopeful about support with the wheelchair, no replies
to emails or telephone requests.

Annie the coffee table does count, I think they take a lot of sorting out well the do in my house everything goes on it ?‍♀️

Oh so much ‘tidying up ‘, I am on the sofa ! I do tidy up the

The heat makes me jittery too, and lack of sleep, never thought
I would hope for rain. Full sun hits my living room window by
6.00am, I get back to sleep at 11.00am for an hour and again in
the afternoon.

Ellie Anne- Well done for getting to Yorkshire- what a lovely county it is. I hope you are having a lovely time with your daughter. She must have been so pleased to see you. No wonder she is exhausted the NHS workers have worked so hard for so long . Have a safe journey home
Annie- working through your to do list will keep you busy- better with a fully charged phone though!! It really is time you got the proper help you need so hope you get results. Lots of sun here today but a bit too hot to sit in it .
Doodle- I definitely could do with a bit of an iron!! Enjoy your evening walk it will be lovely later on and will help keep the jitters at bay.

Tidying or sorting things out can be therapeutic. Distracts your mind from other things.

Hi everyone . I coped with the long drive better than expected and am in Yorkshire till Tuesday. My daughter is not too bad but clearly exhausted after working in the Nhs during this difficult time. She’s put on a bit of weight which she worked hard to lose but am hoping as things improve she will lose it
again.
Annie I’m so sorry you are not getting the help you need. It is hard to sleep in the heat but I do enjoy it through the day

Doodle your post made me smile, donkey I remember it well my sister got on one at the seaside, it ran of with her, so my brother took me of mine and chase down the beach after her ?????
I’m constantly tidying my little room I really do need to get rid of some things out of there. It does help when in struggling to go in there to tidy..

Annie I have always thought it was such a lovely endearment when you say ‘my love’ to us. It is so much part of your caring personality. Don’t let someone’s comment put you off. We all appreciate it.
The only time I have ridden a pony (was a donkey actually) was on the beach. Even though it was more than 60 years ago I can still remember the feeling of the donkeys mane in my fingers and the movement as he walked along. I loved it. I would have loved pony trekking. The pictures obviously brought a smile to your DGC.

Joyce thank you, my mini tornado has had such a difficult time through university, first year her mother died so she was
advised to drop out and start the following year. Then for her
second and third years the virus so all lectures etc on line.

Yes estrangement is sad, I have three sisters living in the same town and nieces and nephews, I miss them, what hurts so much is they cut off from my son in law and my grandchildren,
they are Godparents to them.

rafichagran thank you my love , time with our grandchildren is so special, I was blessed to have my three close until they moved away following their mother’s suicide, but we are still
very close in our love if not in distance.

Oh Annie it must be so hard to sleep when it’s so warm- you should not have to put up with this. Do you have a fan to help?
You must have so many different feelings looking at your photos as there must be happy memories there too. Where did you go pony trekking?
Do your sisters and brother know the difficulties you are facing at the moment- it’s so sad that they can’t reach out to you.
Fingers crossed for MTs results - she sounds such a lovely young person I,m sure she,ll succeed in whatever she does.
Blue Sky - good idea to go in the garden later in the day it’s lovely then.
Maybe you could give WI a chance - do you know anyone who is a member? Obviously it is nice to go with someone if you can. The ladies at my WI are mostly really nice and very supportive when anyone needs help of any kind.
Doodle- you are so right that we must enjoy the good days - not always as easy as it sounds though is it.
You always give such sensible and encouraging advice thank you.
Joce - I too love to be called ‘my love’ it makes me feel cared for.
Glad you are sleeping better- I guess feeling more rested makes you more able to deal with the dreaded early morning anxiety.
I loved your quote about crying but my problem is I can’t cry any more- it’s horrible. I just cry inside.
Rowantree - I used to always look at people when we were out and think they had life all sorted but I guess that they could have been looking at me and thinking the same!! Not many people go through life without troubles or problems it’s just that anxiety magnifies everything so much.
As I said to Bluesky if you are able give WI a chance you will find friendship and kindness. There are lots of interest groups to join in such as walking and book clubs you might find interesting and there is nothing to lose but much to be gained. Hope you soon feel brighter.
Nonnie- oh dear bet my glasses are old stock! Serves me right as they are the first really nice frames I,ve ever bought?
It was so good to see my friend thank you I have missed her. Even put on a dress in her honour and when I got there she had too! It was good to drive a ‘proper’ drive again felt like a normal afternoon.

Afternoon all x Well I was in the garden under the parasol but had to come in and put the fan on as I felt weird. Not sure this is normal? Will mention it to the pharmacist on Wed when I have a phone med review. Probably to do with ageing again but it’s hard to accept that various problems are now due to ‘age’. DH feels the same about his reduced mobility which luckily so far I haven’t experienced.
Annie sadly your lack of help from agencies which ate supposed to provide, makes us all think. Is there anything out there when you need it most? Estrangement... my mum and her sister, fell out and never spoke again, so sad.
No walk today till this evening!

Annie we are as we are! I seem to be more organised since DH has been unable to do anything much. I quite like it but flag at lunch time and don't usually do much after that.

Scardycat good luck with using the old specs, they told me they could reuse mine but only if in current stock. Of course they were not!!

Don't 'stress about it' reminds me of 'pray about it'. Why don't they pray for me, why assume I'm not doing it?

Rowantree that sounds like you made very good use of your early morning start. I think perhaps you expect too much of yourself, no need to compare with others.

Not sure it is any comfort to you but my DH spends hours online achieving nothing I can see when he could be doing some of the things which need doing.

If you feel alone at WI, look for someone else who appears to be alone, they will probably be really happy you went to talk to them.

Sorry I can't answer all, DS has just arrived to work on the things in the garden I cannot reach.

Doodle yes I have an alarm button, but I don’t have anyone for them to contact should I press it so they will send the police, being stuck on a banana board and having a police car
arrive causes more anxiety, the only other person in the Cul de
sac that this happens to is the lady next door , when they are called there one is armed !
