In response to the OP, my experience doesn’t bear this out. I broke my arm recently when I had a disagreement with a tree root on a lockdown walk. As well as having excellent NHS treatment for the injury, from 111, A & E, X-rays, fracture clinic through to physio, my GP rang to discuss the circumstances of the accident, and my diet, lifestyle and exercise. From that she said she felt that the accident was just unfortunate, and probably not exacerbated by poor bone health, but she’s booked me in for a densitometry scan to be on the safe side. The waiting time was only three weeks, which I’m very happy with in the current climate.
Perhaps I’ve just been lucky, but the regular over-50 checks I’ve had at the GP surgery have also included advice re nutrition and exercise. So no, I feel I’ve been well looked after.
