Mystery ailment - anyone else had anything like this?

For the past 8 summers I've had fatigue and constant muscle aches in both my legs. I have been to the GP each time, various blood tests done, once my iron was low, once my vitamin D was low, but the last 6 years all bloods normal. The GPs are quite interested and one suggested I took anti-histamine from april, daily until mid-august. This does work pretty well, I get some breakthrough days. I chose not go to rheumatology specialist as it has always resolved by september and I just never get it in the winter. It seems it must be some allergy-mediated inflammation and while I'm aware many people have far worse chronic pain issues, I'm just perplexed that I've never heard of anyone with anything similar (It seems like ME, bad fatigue, brain fog, jelly legs if I'm really tired, constant ache and I did contact the ME association, but they'd never heard of it occurring seasonally). Are there any gransnetters out there who have something similar?

My DD has something similar. It has been suggested it is adrenalin fatigue. Not recognised by N H S yet but look it up on the net

Thanks for the post, I've never heard of that & will certainly look it up. Hope your DD isn't too achey this summer.

does your diet change in the summer?

I eat lighter meals, but still similar proportions of fruit, veg, meat, fish & carbs. I think I'm going to try to give up the caffeine year round though.

Sounds just like fibromyalgia, it might be in the winter you are in more and so keeping warm. Suggest it to your dr.
