There is even a question as to whether Johnson is following his own rules in isolation.

At 8.30 this morning he was apparently in Downing Street. By 10.30 he had miraculously turned up at Chequers.

I guess my hand would be forced if I was contacted by T&T though. I would absolutely comply, I’m not really a rebel. But if I felt well, I’d be miffed. But again, I wouldn’t want to possibly make anyone else ill. Unlikely, but possible.

It wasn't the contact by T&T that forced his hand. It was the public outcry.

That is precisely what I understood. Mind you, like me, he has had Covid and the double vaccine. I would feel pretty miffed, but I’d comply absolutely. He probably feels the same, but is complying.

The latest humiliating volte-face is neither surprising nor confusing. The regime is built entirely on Brexit, a lie so massive & so far-reaching that it’s unhitched half the country from observable reality. When you depend on the deluded for your power, any con seems possible.

The PM doesn't have covid, FarawayGran. The Health Minister, who visited a care home last week has it and the PM and Chancellor, who had been in contact with him (despite Zoom being available and them owning a brand new £2.6million, taxpayer funded communication room), were pinged and told to isolate. They weren't going to isolate as they are part of a non-isolation testing test but, in response to a huge public outcry approximately 160 minutes later it was announced they are going to isolate after all.

I know this sounds like the plot of some kind of cheap comedy show where b-list actors play duplicitous, self-serving, entitled clowns, but sadly it's reality.

As for why is he so popular? No idea, but I imagine he is less popular than he was 8 hours ago.

I’m not sure you can get covid twice. Otherwise we’re doomed.

I am afraid you can. And you can do so even if you’ve had a double vaccination.

Scientists recognise that the vaccine is not perfect, but are hoping that further work will improve it.

It seems sensible to continue with mitigation.
