Hi, anyone got any tips, I’m thoroughly miserable.
Massage today so feeling sore, only got ibuprofen as my surgery are so difficult and I’m not in a mood for a battle.
Any help out there?

There are some simple exercises on YouTube, when I get it I do the exercises and within minutes my sciatica has gone. It is a case of stretching the nerve that is trapped.

Easier to watch the video rather than me trying to explain.

I go to a weekly pilates class which helps my sciatica. I do this video at home in between sometimes especially when I've done too much gardening. You need to do them regularly.

There is very little the doctors can do except prescribe really strong painkiller, which I don't like or they can refer you for physio. I did that but most of the exercises were the same as the pilates ones.

Good luck.

I did that exercise for years when the sciatic hit. But I found this exercise stretched that nerve just a little bit further.

Please be careful with ibuprofen and make sure you take it with food. I found sleeping with a pillow either under my legs or between my legs if I was sleeping on my side, helped.

You are right MerylStreep, that is a better one it stretches further.

My OH had a bout of sciatica which his usual pain killers never helped with, went to local chemists and a friend who works in there said the only thing that helped with hers was co-codamol. So he bought a pack and they worked for him.
So if you are able to try them it may be worth a go.

I already do the first of these stretches which was shown to me by my physio but I really like the third one in this video. It is a super stretch! And my back/hip feels the benefit from trying it out. Thanks for posting the link

I’ve told so many people about that stretch and everyone of them can’t believe how good it is ?
